It's not like Vince was new to the team and we didn't know about his health, chemistry with the team and personality.

Thorn's a smart GM you think he gave Carter a 4 year deal w/o the Brooklyn move in mind? Wish I still had that article then this wouldn't even be questioned.

No.. No he hasn't.. He was interested in moving RJ to get JO instead at the begginning of the season before Kidd started his antics.. And you can go back to see what I said about trading both RJ/Krstic for JO..

It's after Kidd started his antics and the Nets constantly losing that rumours about VC started to come out.. Thorn knew once Kidd's heart wasn't in it, that it spelled doom for the Nets, so his plan shifted from trying to improve the team to rebuilding it.. And it started by moving Kidd and Carter's contract.. You can spin that however you like..

Their GM would hang up the phone if Thorn offered RJ/Kristic for JO.
That makes no sense for Indy trade one of the best big men in the east for RJ and a soft center in comparison to Oneal.
The GM could get fired if he made that trade especially since the Pacers have Danny Granger.

I'm sure Thorn tried to get a steal but the Pacers said VC or nothing and it hasn't happened so....
Either you don't remeber Vince being shopped for Oneal or you have selective memory.

One of the best big men in the East? JON? That was a couple of years and a couple of injuries ago.

JON might be worth the risk at half his salary.

Re: Why trade VC now?

The Expiring contracts might be tempting

Quote:
Vince is a better player than RJ.

RJ is a better player to have on your team than Vince.
And this would be because RJ has lead a team on his own successfully....wait no, thats not true

OR

Because Vince is a lockerroom problem...wait no, thats also not true. I don't recall the last time Vince got into trouble with the law or such.

Because Vince is a heartless, gutless wonder.

But I'm sure he's a nice guy.

There's no I in team and no player is above the team RJ compliments players better than Vince does. The fans didn't vote Vince to the ASG or RJ bc of the record they voted in Caron Butler then Ray Ray.

Re: Why trade VC now?

RJ compliments players when HE IS not the focal point of the offense. When VC is gone, RJ will undoubtedly be the Nets go to guy and that spells disaster.

I don't get the whole Ray Ray and Caron Butler mention. Joe Johnson got voted to the allstar squad and wasn't playing better than either VC or RJ. Heck his team isnt even in the playoffs
