T-Wolves reject Tyrus and Deng for Jefferson.

670 the score via another website(forgot the link) reports that the T-Wolves shot down Luol Deng and Tyrus Thomas for Al Jefferson.

Wonder where the Bulls are going with this, are they giving up on 2010 or do they think they can add another big time player in the off-season to pair up with Jefferson.

Re: T-Wolves reject Tyrus and Deng for Jefferson.

perhaps they want al jeff because they feel that bosh might be tough to grab...here's my theory to this... cavs are aching for amare...if they get him, that takes bron off the market (he will likely want to stay)...that pushes bosh's stock up...more teams (aka knicks) who were gonna make a big for bron will have bosh as more of a priority... perhaps the bulls will get al jeff...find a suitor for kirk's contract, and push for joe johnson in the off season...then they will look to either resign salmons (depending on how much he asks) or a decent mid-level sf prospect like richard jefferson or mike miller.

A lineup along these lines wound not be a bad thing to settle...

C: noah
Pf: jefferson, gibson
sf: salmons/jefferson/miller, james johnson
sg: joe johnson
pg: drose

Re: T-Wolves reject Tyrus and Deng for Jefferson.

If that is true I am glad we didn't do it. It would be a short term move IMO. Which we don't need. As much as I like Jefferson he has plenty of drawbacks. But more importantly if we were able to add another big time scorer in FA then we would have three primary scorers on our team which I don't think works as well as 2 primary scorers + Deng. It also kind of ruins the point in getting Bosh. This is one of those trades I would do any other year but this one. Are we going big in the FA this year and trying to build a contender or are we just trying to make our team as good possible right now?

At least they tried. I am glad to see the Bulls being very aggressive!

Yeah nice to see them try, David Kahn is a horrible GM but I dont blame him for trying to get more for Jefferson, I doubt he can but he fancies himself a good GM.

I would have been willing to throw in 2010 1st and JJ to sweeten the deal. Would have gotten our low post and had the cap for another max player. Noah and Jefferson would have been a good combo.

That trade would have hurt our cap situation a bit not helped it.

I don't blame Minny for trying to get more for Jefferson. However, Minny is still idiotic for not trying to work this out. They have no idea how to build a cohesive team. Luol Deng would be an incredibly valuable addition to them, and would fit marvelously with Kevin Love and Jonny Flynn. It's their lack of appreciation for defensive-minded players and team guys that has them in the NBA gutter.
