The Bulls regular season: early results
The Bulls are 2 - 0 so far this season, with solid wins against the Celtics and Pacers.

So far the experiment combining Rose, Wade and Butler is worked pretty well. Rondo has really helped the offense, pushing the ball well and making good decisions. Wade and Butler have been solid as have Gibson and Lopez.

It is very, very early in the season but I am hopeful.

Re: The Bulls regular season: early results
It is early, and we have been fortunate to catch both of our opponents on the road, playing in the second half of a back-to-back...

... but the first half against Indiana is the most fun I've had watching basketball in a long time. The Boston game was nice too, obviously.

We probably aren't going to keep shooting as well as we have from three all season, but you can see that Hoiberg's offense is much more than what we saw last year, thankfully. From the time he arrived everyone talked about Hoiberg's desire to play with pace, which we really failed to do effectively last year. I didn't realize what a difference the changeover in personnel was going to make (which leads to some conclusions about Rose/Pau and their apparent unwillingness to play "Hoiball"). I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I we simply out-paced Boston for most of the opener... I think we shot around 39% but managed to get up so many more shots than the Celtics it helped even things out. While we were all worrying about Rajon Rondo's inability to space the floor, I imagine the Bulls conversation with Rajon Rondo during free agency went something like "You know how you had the Kings running at the league's highest pace last year? You can do that here, right?" "Yes." "Sign here.".

Wade still has something left in the tank... he's slowly eroding the years of Wade-hate I've been harboring (though I was a fan of his at Marquette). Dougie McBuckets showed up big against Indiana and looks comfortable in the offense. Michael Carter-Williams is probably better than Tony Snelll, but god help us if he has to play more than a minor role running the offense. I like using Felicio as the backup C, he's big and knows how to run to the rim, I think he'll put a few people on posters this year if he gets run with Rondo or Wade.

I'm sure there will be adversity ahead and we'll see how well the Rondo-Wade-Butler-Hoiberg relationships hold up when it arrives, but for now, I've been pleasantly surprised. At minimum, at least we aren't an incredible drag to watch so far like we were last season.

Re: The Bulls regular season: early results
The Bulls are now 3 - 0, after an impressive win over the under performing Nets.

The team seems to have gelled nicely around Wade, Rondo and Butler. They play well together. Ball movement has been very good and the defense has been surprisingly good.

The tide turns!
Well, it was nice for a while. The Bulls started off winning 3 in a row, but have since lost 3 in a row.
