What do you make of this Krause statement?

He followed it up with another statement---but just consider this (out of contet though it may be)

Quote:
"Jamal Crawford's a man now and he can handle anything that happens to him," Krause said.
In other words: "If I have to make him into another Marcus Fizer, then he'll just have to learn to love it."

Wow.

I didn't really believe it before, but Krause apparently has settled on Mr. Jwill.

He followed it with this:

Quote:
"He's also a two-position player. He can play [shooting guard] very easily. Jamal's an ideal [point] or [shooting guard]. He's 6-6, he can shoot the heck out of the ball and can defend No. 2 guards."
Notice that "also". He's tossing out options for the kid.

It definately does not sound like Krause has a definate plan for Jamal anymore.

If it sounds like a duck, smells like a duck, looks like a duck, it probably is a duck unless Krause is doing the talking. He could be telling the absolute truth and it could still be disregarded because of all the past smokescreens. My actual reaction is that sounds like we are going to JWill, but I have long given up on trying to figure out Krause's comments. It also could mean that he really likes Dunleavy and is trying to give people the impression he is sold on JWill and wants to up the price so Golden State gives up the farm to move up and get him. Then again, how would I know, I don't. When the Bulls had the first pick, I had no clue until the anouncement was made from the podium that we were getting Elton Brand. Then again, no! I am stopping here, I will only confuse myself further if I try to figure things out.

Songcycle has it right. JC will have his opportunity to play a team game. But Krause is either posturing to increase the value of the pick or sending a message to JC that he will have to earn his time on the court.

Either way, I'm happy with the process as it improves the team.

It will be fun to reflect back on these quotes after the draft to see how sly or not Krause really was.

All this statement means to me is that Jamal is man enough to play the 2 even though he would probably prefer the point. Nothing more.....

Very interesting statement......

It seem to me that Krause is giving a message to the people and players and especially JC that JC is a type of player that can play both positions the two guard and the point guard........Seem like that Krause might be very interesting with JWill.

So who would be interested in JC if he is on the block?

Here is a start to the list:

Washington
Seattle
Atlanta (needs a big PG since they have Terry)
New Orleans (very weak guard bench)
Denver (in need of talent everywhere)

What could we get?

Well New Orleans has P.J Brown who would be a perfect fit. Denver has the 5 pick. Atlanta has Nazar. Washington has Alexander/Popeye.

We would need to package JC with some of our other spare parts depending on who we are trading for but we could get some solid bench vets. At the top of my list would be P.J but he would be difficult to aquire.

It must be tempting to Krause to be able to pick JWill and then trade JC and some other players for some vets. that together with Rose would be give him a team that would be an instant playoff contender.

Not to be overly optimistic but if JWill played as advertised, with Rose, and if Curry and Chandler show good development along with vets like PJ Brown, Scott Williams and say a FA like Harpring we might be looking like 2nd round material in a weak East. The chance to do that almost would be too good for Krause to give up.

I would add Minnesota to the list due Brandon's health.

I wouldn't trade JC yet........If I was Krause I would keep JC and draft JWill and see what both they can do playing together........I like to create own of great backcourt depth with playing the front court depth that we have with bench energy players.

Anyways not ready to trade JC yet beside he doesn't have much value anyways to trade for.

The teams are list is make perfectly sense though........But there isn't much players is interest to trade let see:

Washington: The only player I would be interest is Richard Hamliton but they won't trade him.......But with Alexandor at first I dont' want him but after I see him play very well when MJ got hurt he prove me wrong so maybe and I am rethinking of Jadi White for a bAck up role only though. Thats the only players I would be interest.

For Seattle the only players I would be interest from Seattle is Shammond William for a back up point guard role.........and Vlamir or whatever you spell his name.

Atlanta: Only players I would be interest from that tam is Narz, Jason Terry(I know they won't trade him at all.), and Demar Johnson..........Of coruse there is SAR but we all know they won't trade him.

Hornets: Let see only players I be interest is Baron Davis of course but I wouldn't be much interest with PJ I might be interest with Stacy Augman and Jamal Magolina as a back up roles.

Denver: And for Denver there is not much I be interest only key player is Dyce but don't want him we got Chan as a future starting PF. Porbably a player that be a bit interest is Posey thats it

My point is that JC have not much value to trade for unless we get very very very lucky......I rather keep JC and create a great backcourt depth see how JWill and JC play well together or a veteran stud point guard if we trade the pick.

I would like to see them keep JC darft Jay and let them grow together to be good for a longer time rather than a quick fix. JC could definitely play the 2 guard position, just look at his shooting when he finally started to play at the end of the season, looked to me more like 2 guard stat than PG stats.

Thumbs down Crawford sucks!

What has made everyone think that Jamal Crawford is so good? He isn't, he stinks. Whatever you do to him, he still stinks!

yes, explain yourself please. JC came back several months early from Knee surgery and shot 67% from the 3pt line in the final month of the season.

one game he shot 7-7 from the field.

and this is off of MAJOR knee surgery. i got nothin but love for this kid. he's got a terrific work ethic.

i'll be at the Rocky Rookie Review in SLC, UT to report further on his play later this summer...
