Peyton Siva

5'11
180lbs
20 years old

Not there yet as a point guard, but in the mold of guys like Isaiah Thomas up in Washington, he's one of those pesky, speedy guys that knows how to get into the lane. He's coming along as a passer but he needs to work on his passing. For his size, there are few guys more athletic than him. Sometimes he looks like a video game player out there. With Knowles gone this year, he'll get even more opportunities next year on that cards squad. He's 5'11 though, thats a major ouch!

Re: Peyton Siva

He's a pretty super athlete so I would be less hesitant to take him than other shorter guys. He needs to step up his decision making and learn to control his speed, which is blazingly fast.

Re: Peyton Siva

You know, I was preparing my annual "Celtics bargain shopping" piece, and Siva was one of the guys I had on my list. This year's look is a chore given how bad the pool is.

Re: Peyton Siva

He has a ways to go to being a complete player at the next level.
I mean look at what happened to Terrence Williams so far, with all that talent.

Re: Peyton Siva

Am I the only one that thinks he has a shot to be a JJ Barea type after some time in the D-League?

Re: Peyton Siva

I think that if he can get picked up by a good team in the 2nd round he can definitely provide that sort of production. I'd still like to see him in Boston.

Re: Peyton Siva

Siva isn't nearly as clever a scorer as Barea is. He drives to pass and is contantly bailing out his own poor drives with bad passes to big men in who aren't in position to do anything with the ball.

I don't like him as an NBA player, don't think he will be drafted.

Re: Peyton Siva

I'm not a huge fan of guards in the NBA that are short and small at the same time unless they have outstanding skill sets. He has got too many holes in his game to be efficient at the next level.
