Adreian Payne - PF - Michigan State

6'10'', 245 lbs junior from Michigan State. Really athletic, strong, good rebounder. It's hard to tell about rebounds because everyone on MSU rebounds well, but he's the best. Not a very good scorer, limited to putbacks and dunks, but finishes very strong, can hit the open 3 (40% on 1 3PA per game this year) and is making 84% of his FTs. Improved every year.

I love this guy. Going to have a long career as a role player. Really emerging this post season.

Re: Adreian Payne - PF - Michigan State

One of the most secretly awesome players to watch in college basketball. All he does is block shots, dunk, and hit threes. I've been waiting all season for him to start getting hype from the draft sites but it hasn't come. For someone who wasn't much more than an energy guy his first two years, he's developed a lot. He has a great looking, albeit slow, jump shot, and is a great free throw shooter. I don't see how he's not a productive NBA role player. He's a lot like Serge Ibaka.

I don't think he should come out this year though to be a second round pick. Izzo's teams always have a guy that they give a lot of responsibility to in the post. With Nix graduating, that's going to be Payne next year. He has a chance to develop that part of his game with touches that won't be available in the NBA. It probably wouldn't help his draft stock much, but he'd be a better player for it.

Also, he has a great name.
