Trade vs. Prospects

Every Yankee fan knows that we do not have many great prospects; among them is Phillip Hughes. There have been many trade rumors surrounding the Yankees recently, such as for Dontrelle Willis and other pitchers, requiring that the Yankees trade these prospects. Would you trade them to get a hurler such as Dontrelle. I thought yes, but after looking at Hughes, http://youtube.com/watch?v=MrovJ6FSC...illip%20Hughes, and his ability to change speeds, I am not so sure.

Re: Trade vs. Prospects

Willis is only 24 years old and is proven to be a Cy Young type Pitcher so Youth is not the Issue. Is is how many prospects would you have to give up with Hughes.

I give up little to none of our vast wealth of future talent that just keeps coming.

Hey net, I like Hughes a lot we should keep him, that's our future right there. Like Ghost stated Dontrelle is young, but I'm not willing to scarfice Hughes for him at this time.

Re: Trade vs. Prospects

I'd probably do it. Willis is only 24 and a proven left hander that we can add. We do only have 1 lefty starting right now.

Re: Trade vs. Prospects

yes i would do it in a heartbeat.... the only concern i have is that the yankees need to get younger.. and dontrelle is very young so i would do it.. trade duncan and hughes for dtrain... we need a lefty in our rotation... but if were not trading prospects to get young major league ready players i say just keep them in our farm system..

Re: Trade vs. Prospects

DTrain may be good, but he has yet to prove himself in the AL, where the hitters are much tougher, and he will be facing a much harder schedule. I really like Hughes, as he has drawn comparisons to Rodger Clemens...Would not do the trade.
