Wrist surgery may sideline Pena two months
TORONTO - Wily Mo Pena could be sidelined for the next two months after learning that he must undergo surgery today to deal with a fractured bone in his left wrist.
The Red Sox outfielder was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday after dealing with a sore wrist for a week and a half but it was hoped that the condition was minor enough to heal with rest. Pena underwent diagnostic tests Tuesday, when it was discovered that the hamate bone was fractured and would require surgery.
