Series 22 - Kansas City at Seattle

[B]6/2 - Bobby Keppel vs Jamie Moyer 7:05 PM[/B

0-0, 2.70 / 2-5, 4.24

6/3 - Seth Etherton vs Joel Pineiro 7:05 PM

1-0, 1.80 / 4-5, 5.13

6/4 - Denny Bautista vs Jarrod Washburn 1:05 PM

0-2, 5.63 / 3-6, 3.89

6/5 - Scott Elarton vs Gil Meche 7:05 PM

1-6, 4.94 / 4-4, 4.87

This four game set against he American League doormat represents a double edged sword for the Seattle Mariners. A poor preformance against KC would show just how poorly this team is preforming and threaten to further shrink the diminishing crowds that are attending home games at Safeco these days. A good series, on the other hand, will provide a lot of false hope that the team is just "bouncing back from a slump" and still "competing" in the stuggling AL West. A strong series or even homestand, and Hargrove (if he's still here tomorrow) will probably save his job for another month.

I don't care about who the manager is now I just want to win, I want a 4 game sweep with 10 runs atleast per game.

Great game pitched by Moyer. I was starting to worry that the offense was going to cost him that gem of a game.

Yeah, but I really like the lineup right now minus Sexson, he should be swapped with Everett.

Re: Series 22 - Kansas City at Seattle

Wow, that platoon in centerfield is making my brain hurt everytime I tune into a game and see Willie playing center. Willie botched two flyballs that Reed would have caught. He almost blew another one, but recovered to make a diving catch on a ball that Reed would have caught standing up.

Putting together an outfield comprised of rangeless converted infielders, such as Bloomquist and Morse (who started in LF last night), with an extreme flyball pitcher on the mound is suicide. This team needs to adjust its roster to make space for a legitimate fourth outfielder. Currently the bench is clogged with two utility infielders (Willie and Morse) and two DH-only types (Everett and Petagine). Not that Hargrove would know how to use his bench properly if given the chance, but he currently has no flexibility.

Beltre is on fire since moving to the Number 2 hole.

With one out to go, it looks like the Mariners are going to wrap up a 3-1 series win over the Royals. Meche pitched a great game, going 7 innings. Lopez scored two runs and drove in another to lead the offense.
