Why Doesn't a Team From the NL Central Move to the AL West?

I don't understand why the NL Central has six teams in the division, the AL West has four teams in the division and every other division has five teams. Why not move a team like the Astros to the AL West?

They could do it, you'd just need to have one interleague series going at all times. Prior to interleague play you needed an even number in each league.

Houston I guess would be the most obvious choice with Texas being in the AL West.

If you're wondering this - you don't follow a ton of baseball. The main thing holding up the sale of the Houston Astros is the fact that the new ownership group doesn't want to be forced to move to the American League. Moving a team between leagues is possibly more difficult than physically moving a team between geographic locations at this point.

You're never going to have an inter-league series going on all the time.

Pretty much the biggest reason. Now if we could just contract the Rays and A's and we'd be fine

Awful decision. Interleague year round... That sucks for AL pitchers, go about your business then all of a sudden you have to hit one series and not the next.
