Fielder for Kinsler blockbuster is agreed to

Quote:
The Rangers and Tigers have agreed on a blockbuster deal to send Prince Fielder to Texas for Ian Kinsler, pending physical, CBSSports.com has learned.

There could be another player involved in the trade as potential as well, but that hasn't been confirmed. There may also be money involved as Fielder's $214 million contract is much larger.

Fielder has a limited no-trade clause that includes the Rangers. But it is believed he is willing to accept the deal.

Kinsler's contract details weren't immediately available.

Physicals would likely be needed.

Jon Daniels, Dave Dombrowski and Scott Boras couldn't imediately be reached.

The Rangers made a play for Fielder when he was a free agent a couple years ago before the Tigers signed him for $214 million over nine years.

Trading Kinsler would open second base for Jurickson Profar. Texas has been looking for added punch to its lineup.

The Tigers had been floating Max Scherzer as a trade possibility. But a deal of Fielder could possibly free up extra cash to try to sign Scherzer long-term.

Good. We overpaid for Fielder, and he's been trash in the postseason. Also gives us money to sign Max and Miggy long term. Great move by the Tigers.

I love me some Prince Fielder but the guy has been a tremendous choke artist in the playoffs both in Milwaukee and Detroit.

Re: Fielder for Kinsler blockbuster is agreed to

I can't believe Detroit was able to get rid of him for only $30 million and get a flat out better player at a position of need in return. They can now move Cabrera back to 1st and keep Castellanos at 3rd where he belongs. This helps them so much. Prince is a total dog and getting exponentially worse by the year.

I'm sure the Astros were glad they could move out of the NL Central to the AL West to avoid Fielder and Pujols.

I think they're going to chase after Cano and try to move Profar for a pitcher. I'm kind of hoping that it's Buchholz, he'd probably be better pitching for a warm weather team anyway.

Good trade for both teams, lets Tigers have a little more financial space and gives the rangers a big bat especially a big power lefty with that jet stream in right field in Arlington

He should be kinda mad i think look at Miggy stats the last 3 years and 2011 is the year before Tigers signed Fielder

The Tigers save like $1 million dollars a year for the next 4 years. I'm completely perplexed by this trade as a Prince fan. Feel like the Brewers would have been willing to top this deal if they knew the Tigers were just giving away $30 million.
