Dan Le Batard Gives HOF Vote to Deadspin.com

Quote:
Now that the Baseball Hall of Vote inductees have been announced, the real secret can be revealed: which writer handed over his vote to Deadspin to let its readers decide?

Deadspin unmasked the identity of said journalist on Wednesday, and itís none other than longtime Miami Herald columnist Dan Le Batard.

But if you're part of mainstream media and you don't think you're doing a good enough job covering sports to warrant a HOF vote, shouldn't you just do a better job covering sports? Why make a showcase out of it?

That's not what this is about. He did it because of how retarded the voting panel has become since the steroid era and how ****ed up the baseball writers are. What're you even talking about ?

From original post link:

Quote:
I don’t think I’m any more qualified to determine who is Hall of Fame-worthy than a fan who cares about and really knows baseball. In fact, many people analyzing baseball with advanced metrics outside of mainstream media are doing a better job than mainstream media, and have taught us some things in recent years when we were behind. In other words, just because we went to journalism school and covered a few games, just because accepted outlets gave us their platform and power, I don’t think we should have the pulpit to ourselves in 2014 that way we did in 1936.
If he doesn't think mainstream media does a good enough job to warrant their voting privileges, couldn't he just do a better job?

Re: Dan Le Batard Gives HOF Vote to Deadspin.com

He is an idiot, while I completely agree that the hall of fame voting process is flawed giving a vote to the fans is a bad idea. Fans are ****ing idiots, these are the same fans that have Kobe Bryant in the all star game this year. Fans dont vote rationally and will vote for their favorite players, its the hall of fame not the hall of my favorite player (got that from a radio station today). Something needs to be done to fix alot of these issues but selling your vote to deadspin was not the smart thing to do and he deserves to have his vote taken away. Banning him from games is steep
