I'm assuming every Bona fan here already knows this, but for anyone else who might be interested, Bill Kenville died a few days ago at the age of 87. Kenville is arguably Bona's first nationally known basketball star, graduating in 1953. In his three years of varsity basketball, the team made three NIT appearances and was ranked at some point of each season. The '51-'52 team made it as high as 4th, before ending the season ranked 15th.

Bill was the 22nd overall pick in the 1953 NBA draft, selected by the Syracuse Nationals with whom he won an NBA championship in 1955.

Good get for the Bonnies. [jackoff hand signal] He is a four-star on ESPN and a three-star on Rivals. [/jackoff hand signal]

Seriously, though... he's a perfect fit for Schmidt's style. He should develop nicely as a replacement for senior forward LaDarien Griffin.
Great get - not only for the talent of the player, but also in terms of (a) who we were up against for his services, and (b) signing him in the spring, a rarity in recent years. Schmidt and staff have done a great job developing the "under the radar" guys, going to be exciting to see what they can do with guys that are more highly regarded - at least from a scouting standpoint.
