Stony Brook to 5-2 on the year (counting the D3 win but it's too hard to continually adjust.

Interesting tidbits - SBU is only one of six teams nationally that have no seniors.
Interesting tidbit 2 - SBU plays 7 teams that won their conference tournies last year, 9 teams that played in NCAA Tournament and 11 teams that played in the post season.

It hasn't been pleasing to the eye so far, but they are a bunch of battlers.

With the win over Norfolk St. today in the books, that is another decade of Seawolves basketball in the books.

Pretty good 10 year run for the Seawolves!

2010-2019

Overall Record: 212-116
AE Regular Season: 119-41
First Place Finishes: 4
2nd Place Finishes: 4
Post Season Appearances: 8; 1 NCAA - 3 NIT - 4 CBI

All-Conference First Team = 11 Total
Muhammed El-Amin – 2010
Bryan Dougher – 2011
Tommy Brenton – 2011, 2012
Jameel Warney – 2014, 2015, 2016
Carson Puriefoy – 2015, 2016
Lucas Woodhouse – 2017
Akwasi Yeboah – 2019

America East Player of the Year - 5 Total

Muhammed El-Amin – 2010
Tommy Brenton – 2013
Jameel Warney – 2014, 2015, 2016

America East Defensive Player of the Year - 5 Total

Tommy Brenton – 2012, 2013
Jameel Warney – 2015, 2016
Jeff Otchere – 2019

SBU was clearly the team of the decade in the AE. If only we didn't let 2 Championship games slip away against hated Albany. (Almost stole one against BU also)

First of all - everything is ok - power supply went on my pc Friday - up and running again. (no idea what my pw is - it autoloads on the pc and I didnt wanna change it to post from tablet)

SBU into the top 25 mid major poll at 23, two ahead of UVM and one ahead of Hofstra (who beat us)

Geno Ford on Jeff Goodman's list of 25 coaches to watch.

At Hartford tomorrow. We finally get to see if Hartford is for real or all smoke and mirrors so far.

I would add 5 championship game appearances to the list.

You look back at those AE championship loses and get frustrated about what could have been but when you take a step back and look at the overall body of work it is very impressive. What you forget about is that in 2011 SBU was a #5 seed and brenton was out for season with a torn acl. In AE playoffs they went on to upset #4 albany on saturday then beat #1 vermont by 22 on sunday to get to the championship. What a thrilling weekend. Something the AE will never see again with the new format. In 2015 as a #3 seed going to vermont in the semi's and coming back after being down 16 to get the upset. Again an awesome game in an awesome environment. The contrast between 2000-2009 and 2010-2019 is night and day. What Pikiell did for this program is truly incredible. Hopefully Geno can right the ship and get SBU back to where SBU was prior to Boals taking over.

Congratulations to Elijah Olaniyi for scoring his 1000th career point in last night's win over Albany. Olaniyi has emerged as the clear favorite in the AE Player of the Year race as we enter the second 25% of conference play.

As the season stands right now, hard to see Elijah and Mikale Foreman not making first team all AE while Andrew Garcia is a sure fire second or third teamer.
