I didn’t include Murphy as the understanding was he was always going to have two years of eligibility when he initially transferred.

To be blunt, Ryan Davis looked similarly plodding and foul prone when he arrived and though he is no Sam Dingba, has turned into a decent defender...hoping Murphy can do the same (better shape plus another year in the system)

If you don't see the positives of Murphy, you haven't been watching. The injuries, the pausing and the long layoff since actually playing at Northeastern did him no favors.

Regarding school hanging on to would-be graduating seniors for their extra year. It's not going to be a reality for many schools in the AE. Maybe some sports are getting exceptions (UVM men's basketball is for now - and they're the only ones at UVM that will), but we're not going to know for sure in basketball probably until the summer. Portal days are still young, and roster movement for all schools in the league I'd still say is fluid.

“Starting next season, major college football and basketball players will be permitted to transfer one time before graduating without being required to sit out a year of competition.”
