Game Preview:
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- In its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in six years, Minnesota will look to continue its hot play in a first-round game against Iowa State in the Syracuse Region on Friday.

Winning five of their last six games to earn an at-large bid, the Golden Gophers will look to rebound from a 64-56 loss to top-ranked Illinois in the semifinals of the Big Ten tournament.

Leading scorer Vincent Grier scored 24 points but missed 15 shots from the field in the loss to the Fighting Illini. Center Jeff Hagen, who has been one of the most improved players in the conference, added just 10 points.
