Don’t be a BW defeatist, res! Fordham just had it’s best season ever since joining the A10, even through a coaching change. Duquesne matched its best mark of the last 2 decades. Meanwhile one of the league’s biggest ‘haves’ with the great Archie Miller at the helm is fighting for their single digit win lives.

Of course I’m scared of what you said, but considering the total rebuild/last minute abandonment to complicate things, combined with the above, I’m remaining optimistic we can figure something out.

Take Davidson -4 all day. The Bona faithful will be given the needle of mercy today on this season.

A game plan that involves Venning first to get the offense going. Play inside/out. He can go to the glass or kick it to cutters or open teammates for jumpers. Getting Farell early touches would also be helpful.
All true AA except one key point, there needs to be cutters in order to hit cutters. Usually they stand around and watch.

VCU and Dayton wins were anomalies I would love for them to get back to this weekend, for sure.

From an outside perspective, Ford’s seat has to be engulfed in flames.

Also, if anyone just saw Jerry Palm’s suit, oh my God. He had to have purchased that in 2002. How is CBS allowing that on the air?

Should we talk about that hair?
I’m almost ended the post with “that is to say nothing of the haircut”. It’s impressive in all the wrong ways.

How and why Jerry is in a position of prominence working bracketology for the network synonymous with the NCAAT is, honestly, a mystery. He’s goofy, bumbling, awkward, and most of all he’s not even good. Relative to his peers, he’s among the least accurate in the trade.

You’d think his obvious shortcomings would be countered by being an innovator in the ‘science’ or one of the best out there, but he’s neither of those things. He’s just a pud with barely above amateur bracket musings. Our very own ‘03 does bracketology for fun, and he’s better than Jerry.

Congrats to VCU. With no offense intended of course to the VCU guys if Billy, Tori etc are your friends, I’m happy I discovered this board. The VCU guys here are a good reminder of why to ignore the likes of those others mentioned. Good luck in the A10’s first solo venture in 18 years.

I agree BI. It can be looked at both ways. 2 shitty P5s facing off also guarantees one of them loses, too. But at the end of the day I want non powers to play powers even at the risk of all of them losing.

On Memphis, I’m not bothered. I put them (and Houston, and when they were still good, Cinci) in the same vein as the Big East. They’re not P5, and maybe have SLIGHT disadvantages as compared to P5. But they still have advantages and opportunities we don’t, and sympathy for them is something I definitely don’t have.
So FAU vs Memphis means only one of them can get an extra share of revenue for their conference.
I guess this where we depart in terms of my giving a shit- I feel NOTHING for the AAC. I view the AAC as an empty, hollow, football glory chasing shitheap who tried desperately to get in with the P5, and failed. P5 or not, the top half of that league is cut from the same money grubbing cloth and are every bit as bad.

ETA: I just recalled this is the same conference who operated under the slogan of 'the other power conference'. Yeah, sorry. Agree to disagree on this one, BR. I would be thrilled to see the AAC lose money through a loss to FAU.

The egregious part about Pitt is the disparity of some of their losses. They got smacked around by WVU and Michigan. Let's be honest with ourselves though. The ACC this year was about the level of the A10 ~10 years ago. A few top 25 teams mixed with some real bottom feeders. Pitt notched an OOC win against NW and in conference wins against Miami and UVA, while only racking up one truly bad loss to ND. A resume like that if an A10 team, we'd be screaming our heads off as to why they weren't a lock.
Went up against the SEC championship game.

Big East was in direct competition with more than we were, but they also lost pretty badly to the MWC. Their issue is they're the only one on FOX, whereas the MWC had the B1G semi-final game lead into it and likely had a bunch of holdovers on CBS.
I have seen the FOX speculation, but I dont really get that- FOX just aired the Super Bowl and the World Series. Unless their broadcast for CBB is that unwatchable? Hard to imagine it being worse than your average B team broadcast on any network.

The game was a blowout, for one, but that’s a brutal time slot. 630 on a Saturday is right in the thick of when so many people are doing anything but sitting in front of their television. That’s something I’ve always loved about the A10 title. People are more likely to be in front of their tv at that time, and it’s occurrence only a few hours before the selection show gives it a big time feel.
