One game today, UNH @ Penn State 11AM.

PSU isn't as awful as they have been, but if UNH plays a really good game they could win it. If Rhodes passes instead of shooting UNH's chances are much better.

The game is on BTN.

UNH is having a terrible game, shooting 18% (10% from 3) so far. Konan, Pelcher and Rhodes are 0-11. PSU 39, UNH 12.

0.0% chance of coming back, this team doesn't have offense for that. The big surprise is it looks like UNH isn't playing defense at all. PSU shooting over 55%

After being optimistic before the year started that this team could be a .500 team, at this point I think it's yet another in a long line of 9-11 win teams. And based on nobody but the 5 starters playing, next year should be pretty bad as well

64-32 with 6:03 to go.

Myrick 3-11, 9 pts
Konan 1-8, 5 pts
Pelcher 0-6, 1 pt
Rhoads 1-5, 8 pts
Bronner 2-5, 6 pts

That's some offense right there.

UNH scored a flurry at the end to reduce "a tremendous blowout" to "just a blowout".

The BTN announcing crew was pretty charitable though; there were consistent remarks about how UNH was much better than they showed today. Maybe my opinion of the games produced "in-house" by conferences is tarnished by the "Big East Network" games I see, but it was nice to feel that an AEC team was actually scouted and researched by the guys being paid by the hosting conference. Plus, I didn't hear "American East" a single time!

Regardless of what the stats say, Myrick never looked like he didn't belong on that court. He remained aggressive inside despite giving up a lot of size and not getting a ton of help under the basket. Everyone else... ugh. Bad shot selection, defensive lapses, etc., etc.

It should also be mentioned that the team wore real nice t-shirts with "Sandy Hook" on the front and "UNH is praying for you" (or something to that effect) on the sidelines and in warmups. According to the commentators, Bill Herrion paid for them out of his own pocket.

Well it appears everyteam in the ooc has an awful game and this one was ours. It seems the team never got off the bus ready to play. Trying to be positive here during the holidays a few positives....

1. 16-20 free throws-for us that is superb!
2. Herrion played the freshmen all double digits I believe in mins. We need to start to develop a rotation of 10 guys so that were set for the conference part of our season. If not by the second time through conference play we will have no legs.
3. Hopefully bounce back and get a win next weekend before beginning conference play against the defending Champs UVM. Tough way to begin conference play but if were going to make a move up the standings we have to be able to beat the best teams like a UVM, Albany SBU at home.

The freshman played those minutes because the game was already decided. I'm sure it was nothing conscious on the coaching staff's part. I was open-minded at the start of the season, but honestly, nothing's changed. Even the talented guys we've brought in have turned into glorified chuckers (see Konan, Patrick). Pelcher will probably start shooting 3's by midseason.

UNH made SEVEN total two-point field goals. A division I team making SEVEN two-point field goals is horrifying. It's again, time for a change.:whoosh::frenchy:

If that's true, kudos to Herrion. That's classy!

Wren we both know that Herrion is going nowhere. He is Marty's guy and I believe has two years left on his contract. With UNH being tight with money as they are, I can't see them letting Herrion go. Let's see how the conference play goes before any judgements are made.

There are lots of "AD's Guys" that get let go because they don't work out. Herrion should be no different.

I apologize for being ignorant but who is the last "AD Guy" to be let go? Call me crazy but I wouldnt be surprised to see the opposite of Herrion getting fired and him getting an extension. Wren no matter what I appreciate your passion and opinion on UNH hoops. I will have to buy you a beverage if your in Albany for the tournament.
