Strange game in Vestal. Teams couldn't have been more different, but seems like everything evened out in the end except free-throws. UMBC shot just 9-17 and Bing went 18-21. Not the type of game Bing has won historically (never been a program that shoots well from the stripe), but glad they found a way to hold on. Sessoms is such a second-half player. He seems to go through the motions in the first half and then next thing you know he’s hitting clutch shots to keep Bing alive/ahead and he’s sitting at 20 for the game. Mills continues to impress as well. Kind of a funky shot, but it works for him. Would like to see Binghamton work on getting the ball to Tinsley closer to the basket. Caldwell is a must-start over Hjalmarsson right now. Petcash should be utilized as a three-point specialist more often. He can stroke it.

Hartford moves to 2-0 with a nice win on the road at Lowell. Lutete & Noel were phenonemal as were Carter & Ellison on Hartford's side. Stafl is continuing his steady play down low. I am hoping we have him for 4 years! I am curious to see where Hartford will fit in the conference standings as the season goes on. Most picked them for 7-9 but maybe they can compete for 3-6?

Solid win for Hartford. I really do hope Flowers and Stafl stay for 4 years as well. Ellison’s a beast. Bullies his way for points. Hope they keep this momentum going and give SBU and UVM a fight. In their first two games, they’ve shown they can compete for that three spot. These next two games will tell us if they’re contenders

Very happy with the young core of Marks (soph) Mitchell (soph) and the 3 frosh (Stafl, Flowers & Henry). They have signed 2 and have a verbal from another plus probably have room for a couple others. Be nice if they couid hit on another grad transfer.

UNH holds onto a 57-51 win over Maine despite blowing a 41-27 second half lead. Gritty performances from Hopkins and Lester especially with Guadarrama on an off night. Credit to the Maine defense, they really caused the Wildcats problems with turnovers especially on the press. Aside from Fleming and El Darwich, the Black Bears struggle to score the ball...freshman Stumer was a bright spot and I'm surprised they didn't give him more run after a hot start..

Hartford freshmen have taken 5 out of the 9 AE Rookie of the Week awards with Flowers and Stafl taking two each and Henry taking one. If this group can stay together for four years, Hartford definitely has something to look forward to.
