It was at the 1983 NBA All-Star Game at the Forum in Los Angeles that Marvin Gaye stole the show with his singular and revolutionary rendition of the National Anthem.

Twenty All-Star Games later, his daughter, multi-talented performer Nona Gaye, will pay tribute to her late father by singing a duet with him of that legendary performance as part of the musical entertainment at NBA All-Star Saturday Night.
Anyone else remember that anthem? WOW!

This will be interesting to see.

I PRAY the NBA continues to consider class over crass.
I for one have had enough.

I was only 10 in 1983 so I don't remember that but I bet it was good. Marvin Gaye was one of the greatest. I have a 4 CD collection of him and it's the best. It should be a good halftime performance.

WOW!!!! I can't wait!!!

I must have been just three years old when Marvin did his version so I don't remember seeing it live but we have the same four CD set as antibody and I think it is the greatest version of all time, BY FAR!!! I have played the song many times but I still have never seen the video of it. I hear that is really amazing as well so I hope it gets aired sometime in the next few days.

Here is a good article I found about Marvin's version.
