The all time all stars vs. eachother:

East:
PG-Isiah Thomas
SG-Michael Jordan
SF-Larry Bird
PF-Bill Walton
C-Bill Russell

Bench-
Julius Erving
Oscar Robertson
Bob Cousy
Moses Malone
Kevin McHale
Hakeem Olajuwon

West:
PG-Magic Johnson
SG-Clyde Drexler
SF-Jerry West
PF-Karl Malone
C-Wilt Chamberlain

Bench-
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
John Stockton
Charles Barkley
Bob McAdoo
Elvin Hayes
Scottie Pippen

who do you think would win? i think the east would smother the west.

Since all star games never feature any defense, your guess is as good as mine....UNLESS, of course, you would want these guys to play like they were in a finals. :D

It's interesting that the East appears so much stronger here. I tried to think of other players from the West but I couldn't.

Hard to really have pippen and barkley in the west when the majority of the time they were in the East. Do you declare them one way due to them playing their last years there?

I'd probally take shaq over wilt :p Shaq makes it easier for everyone on the court (on his team of course)

Not just Pip and Barkley out west, but Hakeem and Walton in the East?? Those four should be reversed.

You guys are forgetting Elgin Baylor,Shaq, West was a sg, James Worthy was good...

Honorable Mentions:
Reggie Miller
Mitch Richmond
Dave Bing
George Gervin

Here should be the west:

pg-Magic/Stockton
sg-Jerry West/Drexler
sf-Baylor/Worthy
pf-Malone/Hakeem/Barkley
c-Wilt/Kareem/Shaq

East:

pg-Isaiah/Bob Cousy/John Havlicek
sg-MJ/Oscar Robertson
sf-Bird/Dr.J/Pippen
pf-Mchale/Moses Malone
c-Bill Russell/Bill Walton?

I gave the East Walton and Pippen and gave the west Hakeem and Barkley...

This matchup I think the west would win...

here's how my top 15 players goes:

jordan (e)
russell (e)
wilt (e)
kareem (w)
bird (e)
magic (w)
oscar (e)
shaq (w)
hakeem (w)
west (w)
baylor (w)
moses (w)
dr. j (e)
isiah (e)
k malone (w)

i've got 8 out west, 7 out east, but the top 3 are east. i've got bird and magic as interchageable at the 5/6 spot.

wilt won all 4 of his mvp's east, and avg'd 50 ppg east, so east for him.

moses had most of his prime out west, as well as 2 of his 3 mvp's.

kareem won 5 titles and 3 mvps (out of his 6) out west, so west for him.

my teams would be

east
wilt
russell
bird
jordan
oscar

west
shaq
kareem
baylor
magic
west

east is too strong.

Hakeem, Cousy, and Moses would start.

Now, I would take Earl Monroe over Isaiah, too. Havlicek shouldn't be on the team, and Thomas is third PG at best.

I also think Rick Barry beats out Drexler anyday.

I think the East would kill the West Just cause of Jordan/Bird/Russel/Dr.J on the same team but i think that the East would be able to stop Kareem/Wilt

Definately an awesome game... But I would go with the East to take it...

Would any of you include Pete Maravich on either squad... I would say East since his last stop was in Boston..

Also... Isiah Thomas would start for me... No way he wouldn't...
