How did you rank them?

Amare was 19 last season (don't discuss this season)
Lebron is 19
Melo is 19.

1. Melo - Best player on a playoff team in the west
2. Lebron - Best player on a borderline playoff team in the east, but didnt have the year in college like Melo

3. Amare - Was only 19 for 2 weeks of the season last year. 3rd best player on an 8th seed in the west.

As rookies:

1.) LeBron - unbeliebable play from HS guard
2.) Carmelo - played awesome as well as a rookie
3.) Amare - had the best out-of-HS rookie year ever...until this year.

I agree with these rankings. However, I believe the breakthrough play of Amare was key in the acceptance of LeBron as a credible player outta HS. Who woulda believed if Amare hadn't set the example?

Carmelo better than Amare? Are you kidding?

He is a good rookie but that is it.

Melo is NOT the best player on his team. Andre Miller and Marcus Camby are the key players on the Nuggets.

You can't even compare them. Lebron and Melo are perimeter players. They get the ball. The big guys have to make much more of an adjustment playing against NBA big guys and they depend on their guards to give them the ball.

But in the end you always go for the big guy. Amare and Lebron will definately have the better careers than Carmelo.

Anthony is acting like a spoiled brat saying he deserved to be an allstar when he didn't. He thinks he is better than Kirilenko? No he isn't and he isn't better than 3-5 other forwards who didn't make it.

Amare played on a much better team than Lebron.

Amare is a big guy and in the system the Suns played he depended on others to give him the ball.

Obviously Lebron wouldn't get nearly as many touches if he played with Marbury and Marion.

Lebron is very good but he is getting so much hype it is almost absurd. He hasn't really done anything that is more impressive than what Amare did in his rookie season except that his team is totally build around him trying to get him as much opportunities as possible.
Lebron points high 38 which is exactly the same that Amare put up against Garnett.

MJ was really big, so was Magic, and Bird. Melo is small compared to them.

Amare is better in
1. defense
2. field goal 7% higher (7% is big or small)
3. something you can't see it in the stats.

Melo isn't even half as good as either of them.

Carmelo is the leading scorer on a 6th seed in the west. That means hes the main option on offense and since theres no Kidd type passer or Wallace type rebounder, I'd say hes the best player on the Nuggets. They have a lot of talent, but Carmelo tops it off.

Amare was good, but he was also only 19 for 2 weeks of his rookie season. Carmelo will be 19 for another 3 months, in which time his first season will already be done.

Of course Lebron is the youngest. Amare was good his first year, but not as good as Lebron/Carmelo.

Amare was a FC and you want to compare statistics? LOL

Carmelo isn't the best player on his team. And I would say that Andre Miller is a pretty damn good passer and should have made the allstar game over Allen.

And Camby is not a Wallace-type rebounded? Camby is one of the best rebounders and shot-blockers in the league.

Denver would be a lot improved even without Melo. They basically added Miller, Lenard, Camby, Barry, Boykins and a more mature Nene.

I dont think Miller, Camby, or any of the guys you listed are as good as Carmelo. Andre Miller is the only one thats debatable really. Miller is a good passer, but hes no Jkidd. Infact he averages 3 less assists a game, which is about the same difference between Miller and Melos assists numbers. Camby is nowhere near Wallace, he barely averages 10 rebounds a game(actually he doesnt, hes at 9.9)

Your comments about Camby is ridiculous.

He is averaging 9.9rpg and 2.5bpg in 28mpg

He is 9th in rebounding in the league and 6th in blocks.

Guess who is 2nd in the NBA in rebounds per minutes? CAMBY, Wallace is only 5th.

Camby is also 5th in blocks per minute, Wallace is only 7th.

Case Closed.

Small Forwards is not only the easiest position to play in the NBA it is also the easiest to fill.
Carmelo isn't nearly as impressive as Amare. But you can already see he is develloping into Francis Jr. filling the Allstar game voting ballots.

Lebron is much more impressive than Carmelo because he has another dimension to his game which Melo doesn't. Melo doesn't really do anything that makes him special except that fans love him.

Umm yeah our notorious Portland fan , Amare hater , who lurks on the Suns board.

Have you watched Amare this year? He displayed such a complete game as no other 5 PFs in this league have when he returned from his injury.

If the case is closed, its for the opposite of what you think. Its no coincedence that every single person who voted in this thread has Amare at 3rd.

Exactly... BigAmare will defend any Suns player to the nth degree without logic for the most part. Most people will have Amare at 3rd without a doubt and for good reason. BigAmare came on the Portland board and said Z-Bo did not deserve an all-star nod even though he gets 21 and 11 each night. Zach had good numbers this year but there are a lot of very good players in the west. But Marion and Amare are better players than Zach no matter what according to the BigAmare. Is this guy a hoot or joke or what?
