Ok. Here we are half way through the summer and I'm lookin at what we have done this season.

Add

-Lindsey Hunter
-Chris Jefferies

Lose
-Keon Clark
-Kareem Rush
-Tracy Murray

When the Raptors traded Rush away I knew this was to save salary to re-sign Keon. I was fine with this providing we re-sign Clark great move. This morning I wake up turn on the fan-590 like a normal day and expect nothing of it until I hear.

" Breaking news the Raptors have dropped their qualifying offer to Keon making him a FA".

Now I stand today an angry Raptor fan and pissed at GG.

-Why trade Rush if we are going to lose Keon?
-Why not keep Clark as a RFA to try and do a sign and trade to get something?

These questions pop into my head right away. Then I hear on the Fan Keon will be on in 2 minutes. So I wait near the radio trying to find answers for my questions and Keon comes on. He says

" All they had to do is offer me a contract that would put them 2 mill over the cap that's all"

2 MILLION, 2 MILLION. We are talking about a team who pays Vince 75 Million we are talking about MAPLE LEAFS SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT who have hundreads and hundreads of millions to play with and they are worried about going over the cap by 2 MILLION.

I am a really pissed Raptor fan as you read this. Looking at what we have compared to what we lost I would be suprised if this team can come close to .500 when this season is said and done.

i think what keon said was wrong

from what ive heard, the raptor payroll stands at $52 mil and the luxury tax is going to be about $50 mil

add about 5 or 6 mil to his current deal and that would put them at about $57-58 mil

how would we cut salary? no one wants yogi, hakeem is too old to trade, and it would be disrespectful to trade him (except if its to a bona-fide contender)

i like a sign and trade w/ keon now that we have a marginal chance of signign him

We also lost Childs, and im not sure whats happening with Dell.
But I agree, I am also upset with what has happened. AD and Hakeem/Montross up front.....blah! Hello 1st round knock out.

sad day for the raptors, honestly.

I feel your pain Junkie. seriously I am just scratching my head and thinking wtf? I mean, I was soooooo mad when they gave up Rush. They said of course it is to sign Keon. Well now that Keon is gone, for ummmmmm NOTHING, GG just pinched himself in the you know what.

I am very disappointed. I feel a pain for Vince as well. Off of surgery, has to make something miraculous happen for this Raptor team. Lets hope something happens.

I bet there are some under the table things going on as well. I mean I'm hoping and praying that GG has something good coming. This offseason has been probably one of the most horrible ones the Raps have faced. Lets try to end it on a good note.
