What do the warriors need to give up to land Andre Miller?
Since Cleveland has a weak inside game-I'm thinkin the W's should give up Dampier, the #3 pick, and somebody else- possibly Fortson and (or) Hughes

I think with that trade, it will clear salary room for the Warriors to sign Andre to the max contract.

That sounds like it would help both teams. The Cavs center isn't exactly injury free, but when he is - he is really good!

Tyrone Hill I heard wants out of there, so that does hurt them defensively at PF, so Dampier or Fortson would be a good offer. But who knows what the respective GMs think.

Not if Miller is really on the block. The Cavs are concerned that they won't be able to resign Miller. In that trade they end up with two top 10 picks plus younger bodies at PF, and SG (Hughes is not a PG). With two top 10 picks Houston may be willing to trade the #1 for the #3, Hughes, and Dampier (they need a center). That would allow the Cavs to jump over Chicago and draft Jay Williams. Then all they would need to do is resign Rickey Davis.

Cavs Lineup
PG - Jay Williams
SG - Rickey Davis
SF - ???
PF - Fortson
C - Illguskus(sp?)

* Technically it's not much better than what they have now but it would be much cheaper which is what the Cavs seem to be more interested in anyways.

Do the Clippers really have a good chance of getting Miller? If so do they have to give up Maggette? Maggette is one of my fav players, and Dre is probaby my favorite PG along with Bibby and Parker.....

A.Miller Maggette Miles Brand Olawakandi would be a sick lineup...with QRich on the bench....but then again can they sign Olawakandi again?

Well the Clipps definately have the talent to trade for 'Dre. Unfortunately I think one of the main players in that trade would have to be Maggette. I think a package deal of Maggette, Odom, and a first round pick could get them Miller, and a re-signed Rickey Davis.

As for Kandi being resigned ... since he's a restricted free agent the Clipps can match any offer meaning he would stay. The big question is will Stearling match the offer? Mark Cuban has already said that he would offer the exception of 4.5 mil (that's the most Dallas can offer). Kandi will likely get better offer's though considering he's a true center. Stearling has been saying that he will not break up this team however this is Stearling we're talking about and he has never paid his players. In the next two years he has three players that could command max contracts (Brand, Q-Rich, and Miles). Even if he does decide to start paying his players I doubt he will be willing to pay for 3 max contracts, and pay Kandi, Miller or Maggette their money.

If he is able to trade for Miller, and he's able to resign Kandi their lineup would still be sick even without Maggette.

PG - Miller
SG - QRich
SF - Miles
PF - Brand
C - Kandi

That's probably the most athletic lineup in the NBA, and if they can stay together the would definately be contenders in the near furture. All of this depends on Stearling though and his ability to pry open his wallet.

If they could give Houston Curtis Borchardt and Lamar Odom, Houston would do it.

PG: Francis
SG: Mobley
SF: Odom
PF: Griffin
C: Borchardt

PG: Williams
SG: Richardson
SF: Maggette
PF: Brand
C: Olowakandi
THOSE are 2 very nice line ups, aren't they?

Cleveland has diop, mihms and illgauskas. Why do they need dampier?

Another question: You trade dampier and fortson from GS then you have a front line of murphy and Foyle to go to war in the west, Does that sound reasonable just to get Miller at pg?

I dont see cleveland trading ricky davis. They are high on him and can resign him without the max. Besides, lets say the trade went though as stated, LAC would already have Q and maybe a resigned piatowski, and Miles, where would davis get his minutes?

Add to the fact that this really doesnt help cleveland money wise. Remember they want to trade miller because he wants the max after this next season. Well guess what? If this trade goes through then you have TWO more problems to deal with after getting rid of one money problem. Wont odom demand somewhere near the top if he gets a good year? And magette wont demand top pay but they would still have to pay him a new contract. I dont see this trade between the two teams happening.

If they were to aquire Davis I don't see them resigning Pike. Miles would be the starting SF, Q-Rich would be the starting SG, and Davis would be the first man off the bench for instant offense.

As for why would the Cavs do it. You make some very valid points but look at it this way. Maggette is better than Davis any way you look at it. That being the case he would demand a bigger contract. Odom would only be there for one year and would more than likely be trade bait after next year. He could be used in a trade to get them a higher draft pick in order to land LaBron James (unless the Cavs land to #1 pick in the lotto). Either way they will more than likely get a top 5 pick next year. Would a top 5 pick and Odom get them the #1? Especially if Odom has a good year like you said? I personally think it's a good trade for the Cavs.

Not really!

Why well cause they don't want to pay Miller. That is why he is going to be released. The Cavs can handle a large contract at this time. The GM came out and said it! So give E-snow maybe the 16th pick for him Resign him as a Sixer for about 7Mil a year

Yea, but they can get MUCH more than just Snow, and the 16th pick for Miller. Miller is better than any player comming out of the draft this year. They could trade him to the Clipps for one of their young guys (who would be better than Snow) plus the #2 pick.

Miller is one of the best young talents in the NBA right now. I'm sure there are several teams already lined up with better offers than Snow and #16. That's not a knock on Snow because he has done very well in Philly I just don't think he's good or young enough to land Miller.
