Troy Murphy will miss four to six weeks because of a right ankle injury, the Warriors said after Monday's 115-113 loss to Memphis at the Arena in Oakland.

The Warriors called the injury a "deep bone bruise with a stress reaction'' in the ankle. A team official said Murphy will not have surgery.

Murphy, who started 79 games at power forward last season, was sidelined the first 22 games this season because of a torn plantar fascia tendon in his right foot. Coach Eric Musselman was ready to replace Clifford Robinson with Murphy in the starting lineup Wednesday at Dallas, but Murphy missed the game with what the team called a sprained right ankle.
