That's exactly why the JP schedule formula is what it is...

DUQ - 8-0, 327 SOS. If Duquesne is on the bubble, it's because they went 12-6 in conference and are like 22-8 on Selection Sunday. And everyone will say "Yeah, but they didn't play anyone OOC"

GMU - 10-1, 323 SOS. If Mason s on the bubble, it's because they went 12-6 in conference and are like 22-8 on Selection Sunday. And everyone will say "Yeah, but they didn't play anyone OOC."

SJU - 2-9, 37 SOS. St. Joe's has no chance of at at-large because they're freaking 2-9.

But VCU, UD, Richmond, Saint Louis, and DUQ/GMU are going to play each other, and it's Q1/Q2 Duquense and Mason (19-10 overall) instead of a (12-18) Saint Joe's Q3/Q4 game.

Duquesne/Mason are "paper tigers." But they make the league look deeper and create more in-conference Q1/Q2 games, and if you end up with a four-way tie for fourth at 12-6 with 22-10, 22-10, 21-11, 21-11; all going 3-5 vs the top six of the league... we can get multiple bids.

If everyone goes St. Joe's, only UD/VCU get in

Outside of Dayton SOS is lousy.

The Dukes, Bills, and Patriots have taken care of business though. If you play a weaker schedule, you have to win those games and they have. Conversely, GW, and Fordham have played similar schedules, but have lost half of their games. You still have to be pretty good to take advantage of that weaker schedule. I'm not sure what the roster situation is for SLU and GM going into next season, but barring any unforeseen defections (always a possibility in these transfer happy days), Duquesne will return all 5 starters, plus all of their bench except for Steele. If this season continues to go well, and the Dukes end up winning 22+ games, it will definitely be time to upgrade the ooc schedule. Nothing crazy of course, but a handful of challenging games will be appropriate. Pitt will return to the schedule, so that will help as they should finally be out of the hole they put themselves in by foolishly running off Jamie Dixon.

I like your posts and respect you, but that is a Bad answer Res. You know darn well what I'm talking about. Most of his posts are ridiculous. Please don't be an apologist for that kind of message board vandalism.
