when i went to nba.com and saw the news, i froze for a couple of seconds, and then i burst into tears. i honestly felt like i lost a family member. :(

it may seem bad now, but it'll really kick in come season opening, when you don't hear chick's voice on AM570 and channel 9.

we love you, chick. you will never be forgotten.

To be honest...I cried too. It does seem like we lost a family member. He was a great unbiased, entertaining commentator, he was also a great person. There will never be anyone else like him.

I actually heard about it first on this site from DP's post about an hour after Chick passed. I didn't cry at first cause I was shocked and in a sort of hurry. But the next day when I was driving around in my car and listening to the local DJ's up in LA talking about him it started to sunk in and I started to cry driving up I-5. Not ashamed to admit it.

Didn't really cry but I was choked up. I feel like I'll be subjected to cry if and when I see tribute to Chick before the regular season starts.
