Geoff Petrie - Very good GM. Turned a bad franchise into a winning one.

Bob Bass - Hornets GM, have the Hornets ever been bad since the 80's? Very underrated.

Joe Dumars - Young, energetic, intelligent when it comes to not taking on bad contracts.

Don Nelson - Turned around a bad franchise, good eye for unproven talent.

Worst

Osama Bin Layden - As Knicks fans will attest. How does he even get to MSG without wearing sunglasses, camouflage, and a trenchcoat. Most hated GM in biggest media market.

John Paxson - Cavs GM, how did he get his job?

Gary St. Jean - Watch him screw up another top pick this year with that #3.

Pete Babcock - Hawks GM, nice Reef for Pau and Lo trade.. How did they manage to win with him heading the ship in the late 90's?

He also payed the Max to a hobbled former all-star, traded away Brendan Haywood, gave away Corey Maggette and Keyon Dooling, and drafted 2 busts in last years draft....

LAYDEN IS GAY. I'm a huge Knicks fan, always been, he's so bad. He seems like a nice guy and seems to actually be very smart with his thinking and judging talent, but then seems to pick the worst idea on his list and go with that one. I loved Houston, till he got the money and stopped playing. And I like a lot of the players he got (though undersized) but he gave them way too much money. He didn't have to pay any of these guys this much money. Hopefully he'll turn it around by picking someone nice in the draft, and waiting for the old overpayed-undersized guys to retire.

Gotta agree with you here, Pete is the worst when it comes to drafting but he does have a knack for good trades.

He brought us an all-star (Shareef), while only giving up a bunch of big and long contracts who didn't want to be here. He also traded Mookie in return for the draft rights to Jason Terry.

I just quickly scanned the thread so excuse me if someone mentioned this guy but why isn't Trader Bob not mentioned in "worst" list by anyone ? I mean granted his teams go to playoffs year after year but to spend all that kind of dough and not come out of west ? Is it the players ? Is it the coach ? I have to blame the GM at least to some degree for not getting the <b>right</b> players. Most of his players are great individual players but together they don't seem to make a good <b>team</b>. You have to consider his teams as extremely underachieving teams. No ?

Oh as far as the best, it's gotta be West. :yes:
