I like Van Exel as much as the next guy, and I can't tell you how happy I am that your favorite player was born in your favorite state (Kenosha, WISCONSIN)... but assuming we're talking about real basketball where both ends of the court matter, I'll take Deng.
When Deng is the go-to player on a playoff team I might consider this. Although I do have to agree with you that it does hurt that Nick the quick was born in Wisconsin, probably explains why he stole his parents car and fell asleep at the wheel and got that scar as a teen. Bored to death!

Deng has been as much of a "go-to-player" on a playoff team as Van Exel has.
