It seems like a post game really opens things up for the Nets perimeter players.

Maybe Ely is the best big for us since he can play PF/C and has a better post game than guys like Wright, Songaila, etc. in our price range. Ely may even be better than Nazr although Nazr has monster rebounding games.

Another big man who could score around the basket would be huge for the Nets. When Krstic is in the game the Nets can play inside out, or run a pick and roll w/ him that opens up the lane (because he's a legit threat to hit the jumper). Either strategy leads to the Nets getting in the lane, and then either getting a shot there or being able to kick it out for a good, open look after the defense collapses. When he comes out of the game, a good defensive team can (and does) keep the Nets from being able to go inside out. Unless Kidd is pressing the ball like a madman, the Nets end up just passing the ball around the perimeter until someone has to shoot a contested jumper, and the offense goes in the tank. Being able to have a big man that can score around the basket on the court at all times would make this Nets team much, much better, IMO.

My God. The team is 15-1, including wins over virtually every division leader, and you are still out there every day whining about the lack of a PF. It's hopeless. Reality is beyond you.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't bother as I have you on ignore, and I don't find that you have anything to add of any originality, but in a moment of weakness, I viewed your post. And I'd just like to say that the difference between you and me when it comes to understanding basketball is the difference between someone who watches the games and has a feel for the flow of a game and what is happening w/ the team on a possession to possession basis, and someone who can only analyze based on press clippings and statistics. Have a day.

Yea, Ely, Evans, we just need depth at the power position. We have Collins and Krstic, add a free agent big and a draft pick to the rotation, then call on Cliffy when there's an emergency. I hate to bring this up, but the reason why Detroit didn't win last year was the foul trouble they had in Game 7, they didn't have enough depth to handle Duncan. Both Wallaces and McDyess were in foul trouble. Before the 4th quarter, they had control of that game.

Au contraire mon copain, you are the one who is beyond reality if you really think we're all set with a 40 year old Clifford Robinson as our third big. I mean really, it's actually hilarious. You work for NBC? No wonder the media is in the state it's in!
