This is after the Miller, Sasser, Reid for Mohammed deal.

Austin Croshere
Greg Ostertag
Vitaly Potapenko
Tom Gugliotta
Marcus Fizer
Allan Henderson

I left out Derrick Coleman and Danny Fortson, because I think they'll be swapped for each other.

Fortson & Sura, for Coleman and Bryant.

I put the guys in order of preference, and i've already mapped out how the team would look with Croshere and Ostertag. No one has really disagreed with the Croshere plan, he's a better fit then Ostertag, but I liked the idea of going after Kevin Garnett in 2004. I'm not exactly sure how the Potapenko deal would work, or how you would match the money for Gugliotta, doubt if the Magic could make it work. No one in their right mind would trade for Allan Henderson. Fizer gives you youth and scoring, but he's a big soft power forward, all he wants to do is score.

If we actually got a center, like Mohommed, I think Fizer is the only guy on this list that would be worth getting.

Most of those guys are WAY overpaid, including Ostertag and Croshere. I'm not sure why you would want Croshere. He is a scoring PF, same with Googs.. Magic don't need that at all.

lol

You were right about overpaid, or way overpaid, and the Croshere being a scoring PF. I have to say though, you say the smartest thing, then turn around and make people wonder. What's the difference between what you said about Croshere, and what you said about Fizer, neither one of their games is a perfect fit. I only posted that to help people realize that their isn't much out their via trade, or sign, the only big man left that worth money, are Jones, Oakley, Skinner, and Hamilton. If I missed someone, sorry, Nesterovic was intentionally left out, since we don't need scoring big men, along with Doleac.

I said Croshere because he's overpaid, but at 7mil, when the magic is paying DeClerg 3mil, and Buechler 4, i'd have to say so what, he's the best option.

scouting report on Croshere and Fizer

Croshere - tough, work ethic, wants to improve in all areas of his game, can score, gives effort, but can be inconsistent

Fizer - big wide body, quick, athletic, can score, wants to score, but he pretty much just wants to score

MagicFan hit the nail on the head earlier with the Mohammed and Fortson deals.

And you've been raving about William "Smush" Parker, who was the most talented point guard in the draft, period, well outside of Jay Williams (i'm not crazy). He went undrafted, end of story. That says no one feels like they can harness his ability, including him. As talented as he is, he's just as careless with the ball. He gets steals, turnovers, and assists from gambling a lot, and it costs a team more than it helps a team. He went undrafted because NBA teams would have much more fun watching him play in the Rucker tournaments. If teams felt like there was a slight chance they could get William instead of Smush, he would have gone in the lottery!

fizer makes more sense than croshere. even though they're both a lil short to really play PF, at least fizer has the ups and hops to be a "garbage/putback" player that will benefit from double teams on ghill and tmac when they drive to the basket. croshere isnt somebody i'd trust with his back to the basket or to get the offensive rebound. i see him more like a spot up player, which we have alreayd - miller and garrity.

but garnett? now how in the world would we pull that off? even TD is stretching it i think. cuz we 'd have THREE MAX salaries, and that's pretty hard to juggle around. i'd settle for jermaine oneal instead.

I dont think what I said would make anyone wonder.

I dont know the salaries, but I know Fizer is making much less money than Croshere. As well, Fizer is much younger, which denotes the possibility of more growth than Croshere.

Second, neither guy will be mistaken for a defensive or even rebounding force, but Fizer seems to have a lot more ability, strength, and athleticism around the basket.

Fizer works normally a little closer to the basket.

So i'd take him quickly over Croshere. I see Fizer as possibly having value to Orlando.

The other guys you listed, i'd say no way. Except maybe for Henderson as a cheap bench player, but I wouldnt give anything up for him.

Also, I never really "raved" about Smush. He is very talented and is valuable as a point at 6'3"/6'4" with a huge wingspan. His presence as far as steals was shown in the summer league. I figured he would be signed if Hudson wasnt, but I wasnt expecting Vaughn to be signed.

If I were a GM, and had the room on the roster, I'd give him a couple years to learn and see what happens. Wouldnt be much of a gamble since you wouldnt have to pay him any more than a million a year.

Anything else?

One question. You said you don't think you guys can have 3 max's. So how is signing O'neal any different than signing KG or Duncan? O'neal will get maxed out next year so if you think hes the answer keep looking.
