Bottom Line: 4.11.2006 vs Bulls

Bottom line is that the Nets have won 14 of 16, so it's time to cut the guys a break. It was just one of those games that they should have won, but they didn't play hard enough.

The only thing that worries me is their behaviour with less than 1 minute left in the game.

1) They take too long to foul. How can they no know to foul?

2) The Nets look too much to Vince. On the last play, the Bulls were smothering Vince and Jefferson was wide open at the 3 point line. Kidd should have passed it to Jefferson, especially since Jefferson's jumper was working very well last night. Even Mark Jackson said that ball should have gone to Jefferson.

Otherwise, JKidd and Vince Carter continued to have shot selection problems, but at least Vince kept attacking while Nocioni was fouling him all game. That elbow in the back should have been a flagrant.

The reffing was HORRIBLE last night. The Bulls are 29th in the league at free throws attempted, meaning they don't play a style of basketball that draws fouls. However, last night, they shot 10 more foul shots than the Nets?!?!

You have to give it to them though. Gordon and Hinrich were attacking the basket constantly, they really wanted it. Nocioni is a rough dirty player but man I want that guy on this team.

True, Bulls were playing well and that's why Nets lost with an 85% effort, when normally an 85% effort would have gotten them past the Bulls.

Either way though, I sincerely believe that the horrible officiating changed the outcome of the game. Do you remember the play where they called Carter for a travel when his left foot was clearly his pivot foot and did not move?

There were examples like that all game. Carter and Jefferson attacked the rim all night but Jefferson got no calls and Carter got no calls in the 3rd and most of the 4th.

Frank did a bad job coachign yesterday. I was hoping he would have gotten a T standing up for his players, but nothing. It seemed though everyone was just settling for jumpshots, even RJ. Krstic I thought was the only bright spot and he was in foul trouble.

I thought that Jefferson started to the arch, then cut towards the hoop, where the Nets wanted a 3, so they went to Carter... and as Frank said, he'll go to Carter in those situations. Can't really blame him, the way he was winging up 3 pointers last night, almost like damn guided missles. LOL

Horrible shot selection from Kidd and Carter. Should try and get Marbury and Kmart back on the team this offseason
Carter had a couple of questionable 3 pointers, but they were going in. Kidd tried taking an off the dribble jumper which definately isn't his strength. Other than that, shots just weren't falling for Kidd last night. Nothing about his shot selection was questionable. He just wasn't making them....

People are just taking this loss too seriously. The Bulls are scraping, much like the Nets were late in the season last year. They'll beat some good teams including the Nets.
I can't stand this loss, because we lost to them for 2 times in a row.

And if we can't beat them, does that mean we are a team that is too old, we would encounter many problems when we meet the younger team.

I think we can't lose to them to prove that we are a consistent team and we can even beat the younger team.
The bottom line is that we just didn't play hard. We clearly played like the season was over. We better bring it tonight though, because Philly can still get the 6th spot and I sure as hell don't want to play Iverson in the first round.
