thats what im affraid about. i dont mind the move to brooklyn because 1-its still close 2-its better for the franchise and our team. say the brooklyn move doesnt happen and someone buys the nets. maybe they will move us to OKcity if the hornets stay in NO or maybe even to LV or somewhere out west. that would be the worst thing that could happen. the only options i want to hear about is the move to brooklyn or going to newark with the devs. i dont like it located in newark, but it keeps them in jersey and gets them in a new arena so really cant complain.Net2 said:If the move doesn't go throught, it's very possible that he might sell the team to an out of town owner.
That out of town owner may just move the team farther than Brooklyn.
Thats a good point, with Xanadu and the new Giants stadium planned, you would think the Meadowlands would become a very popular area. It would probably be beneficial to renovate CAA or rebuild in the area. With all the incoming business, why leave?Net2 said:If they do stay in NJ my bet is they would stay at CAA. Where they would renovate the arena.
god i hate CAA.Net2 said:If they do stay in NJ my bet is they would stay at CAA. Where they would renovate the arena.
That would never happen. The NFL is an entirely different entity where all the games are sold out virtually everywhere even with the escalated ticket costs. The NBA has a much lighter fan base and without public transportation the Nets would remain as one of the worst teams in terms of ticket sales in the league regardless of how nice the new stadium would be. Xanadu is a completely different entity, too. It's tailored towards people who won't care about the drive. The same can't be said about the NBA.Net2 said:If they do stay in NJ my bet is they would stay at CAA. Where they would renovate the arena.
really? we don't seem to be doing horrible in ticket sales right now, and we're in the same arena.urwhatueati8god said:The NBA has a much lighter fan base and without public transportation the Nets would remain as one of the worst teams in terms of ticket sales in the league regardless of how nice the new stadium would be.
Less NBA than NHL fans?urwhatueati8god said:That would never happen. Probably not less but different demographics. Hockey is more a suburbia(sp?) and small town sport where most people cannot depend on public transportation. Where as Basketball major support comes from mostly a young urban fan base who mostly relies on public transportation.Petey said:Less NBA than NHL fans?

The Nets are currently ranked 18th in the NBA in average attendance. That's right in the middle, not one of the worst. This season, the average attendance per game for the Nets is 16,784 people. Compared to last year, which was 14,913 at this point of the season, that's around an 11% increase.urwhatueati8god said:That would never happen.
