San Antonio assistant Jim Boylen has accepted an associate head coaching job with the Chicago Bulls, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg had targeted Boylen to coordinate his defensive coverages and use his strong NBA bench experience to facilitate Hoiberg's leap to the pro sidelines from Iowa State.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich wanted to keep Boylen on his staff, but ultimately understood the financial opportunity and promotion that the Bulls were offering, sources said.

I can support this.

With a new offensive book and defensive philosophy, this team will be totally different next year.

Seems like a good hire. He was a big part of the Spurs game plan that beat Lebron James in the 2014 Finals. If he's good enough for the Spurs, he's good enough for anyone as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know alot about him beyond that. He apparently is quirky with the media much like Popovich. As an assistant coach I doubt he'll get much face time with the media though.
