I just don't know if it is really going to get Reinsdorf's attention or not... I think it is fairly obvious to the posters here that this is a really hard team to watch right now, but for context (as long as we're recreating a realgm thread) the Bulls are at 3.55 this year:

This is the kind of news that wakes Uncle Jerry up.

Too bad Gar will likely be the patsy. No real change.
Explain why replacing Gar Forman is not what you consider real change. Because I sure as heck would. You get a solid guy in Gar's role and you could see some big differences in how they do (or don't do) things.

I think you overestimate what Paxson's role in this organization is. It's like blaming my boss because the project I'm managing is failing. My boss' job is to tell me to shape up or ship out, not to go in and fix it for me.

It most certainly will. That's not a good number or trend. Sure, the ratings are still high, but it would be gross mismanagement to not pay attention to such a trend.

Not only should they care, but even if you have a cynical (and perhaps justifiedly so) "just in it for the money" attitude about Bulls ownership, ratings = $$$.

I've passed on watching Bulls games recently for the first time in years, even if I'm around and have nothing else going on. It seems like a good number of others are in the same boat.

Ratings are money... but to go down 29% a year after going up 56% just isn't as drastic a fall as it seems.

That being said, this team is basically unwatchable. I started fast-forwarding through large portions of the game last night because I couldn't take it.

Its a business, of course its about the money. Its certainly not about winning basketball championships for the Bulls the last 1.5 decades. Otherwise, why is the VP-Basketball Ops in "Job For Life" status?

This is where you lose me... I have no reason to believe that the front office doesn't want to win championships, that's a little ridiculous. They might not make the right moves, but to think that those guys are satisfied with merely being competitive seems like an odd assumption. Besides, the real money (if it is 'about the money') is in winning championships.
