Re: Cavs Fire Silas

How long until Silas is linked to the Blazers job?

He has proven to me that he is a good coach. We could do much worse!!

Seriously.... Phil will be in Cleveland before the end of the summer. You can almost guarantee it.

Seems as though, Flip Saunders is at the top of the list also.

great.. Not that our chances of getting Phil were good to begin with..
With Cleveland, Orlando and us looking for coaches this offseason - we can probably say GOODBYE to Phil and Flip. Why would they want Portland?

Has anyone other than Rick Adelman said they want/would like our job publicly??

IMHO look for BILL LAIMBEER to be named the next coach

the new owner has some ties with Laimbeer

Wow, a lot of coaches are being fired this year. This should help cool some of the heat that the Blazers' management has recieved for letting go of Mo.

Silas is a good coach, but he was made vulnerable by the lurking presence of Phil Jackson. Does anyone actually believe that Silas would have been fired this late in the season if Jackson were not available?

These recent coach firings all fit a pattern. Teams are lining up to get PJ.

On the topic of Tom Cruise, I just saw "Rain Man" for the first time last night. Good movie.

And before you say anything, I'm usually the last person on earth to watch the movies that everyone has seen.

Damn, it must be stressfull being an NBA coach. You never know if today is your last day. IMO, Silas wasn't doing a bad job.

while I think LeBron is the perfect (typical) scenario for Phil...it just would feed the mindset that he's a coat-tail rider. And he knows thats his reputation.

A challenge
Phil Jackson has run from challenges all his life, always wants the guaranteed situation.

A pompous coward who has proven nothing substantial in my book.
