The Sonics organization apparently had serious interest in him when he was drafted. They've been wanting him & eyeing him for a while, luckily they snatched him with Brand & the Clippers having an awesome year.

What's great about Chris, is that the Sonics don't even run plays for him....all his points come from hustle, running the floor, hitting FT's, or being in the right spot to hit a jumper. He & Hill have a good relationship it seems, Hill keeps challenging him and Chris keeps responding. He's most certainly adding to his value.

^^in defense of Chris & his defense, he has 2 clueless 20 yr old centers playing next to him....they are awful defensively. chris can def. improve, but he's not the main culprit of the defensive woes. Ray & Luke continue to get torched by opposing guards, one of the big guys has to help out & it leaves an opposing big open. & Nick is injured, our best defensive big, and that means Mikki "the Clown" Moore has to play & he just sucks period. Earl is the only consistently decent defensive player, and Chris is better defensively than Vlad, so I consider that, at the least, a step up from what we had before.

Seattle's record is bad, but a reason the record looks so bad is because of Flip Murray, Vladimir Radmanovic, and Bob Weiss. Reggie & Vitaly both wanted out from the beginning, & Reggie was selfish. With Earl & Chris, the team is playing a lot better. If they had this roster all year, they would have at least 35 wins.

Luke & Earl outplayed TJ Ford---BTW, TJ Ford looks awful, glad he's not on my team.

But did anyone see Ray's stats? He had 6 pts in the first half. He played one of the worst games I've seen out of him ALL YEAR. With the old Sonics team, with Ray playing like that, they would've lost by double digits. Ray was 0-4 from 3 pt land, missed 3 or 4 FT's (a 90% FT shooter), and only had 15 pts. To win with Ray shooting this poorly really shows how far the Supes have come. Chris kept the Sonics in it in the first half, with Rashard in foul trouble & Ray just playing bad. Chris had 20 in the first half. Rashard carried the load in the second half, & Earl finished the game off.

& the Bucks bigs are more experienced than the Sonics bigs. Mikki Moore was our most experienced big last night. So to me, it's no shocker that they did better, they ARE better.

FWIW, D'Allessandro said in his weekly chat that SEA's owner is having financial problems and isn't likely to throw big money at Chris. Dave sees him "out of SEA" this summer. If he keeps up his current play, Dave pegs an offer of "$40M over 5 years" as what Wilcox'd command. It's definitely "over the MLE" the way he's playing right now according to Dave.

Maybe a S&T would be possible???
keep in mind they did offer Radman 6yr/$42 mil, AD 4yr/$20 mil, and Jerome James 3yr/$15. They won't go over the luxury tax, but they said last season they would be around $55 mil, unfortunately AD & JJ (well fortunately actually :)) got MLE from other teams & they did the right thing by not matching. We have a backup PG that is making MLE, and the Supes are a moneyball team that believe backup PG's should make between $2-$3 mil a year, not $5-$6.

Sonics ownership was losing money last year too, but they resigned Ray Allen for $85 mil. If Chris continues producing, the more and more they are obligated to keep him. He is becoming the third scorer, something the Sonics have been searching for all season....they CAN'T lose him. & when Sund traded Radman, he said they were looking for a player to add to the core, who could be there longterm.

Chris Wilcox didn't give Reggie Evans the career high in scoring....that went to Mikki "I can't stop a tree from scoring" Moore. Chris got into foul trouble early & Moore had to play more minutes, which is always unfortunate.

Frankly, none of the Sonics played tonight. Luke had nice numbers as did Robert Swift, but everyone else played like they could care less. Just a bad effort, bad game by the Supes.
