I do agree somewhat. I don't think all of them leave though. I can see Noah staying...the SG will stay and I believe Taurean Green will stay. I also think that PF Al Horford needs 1 more year then he can come out. Corey Brewer will have NBA teams (Noah too) drooling over him. Brewer can fly, can play defense, rebound...his shot is coming along pretty nice.NetIncome said:You obviously posted before the National Championship. And at this point in time, there is no reason for any of those kids to stay at Florida.
Noah is the only one who realistically might leave.Hbwoy said:As of now Brewer is the most likely to laeve as his stock probably wont be any higher. Noah doesnt care about the NBA, and am pretty sure he will be a high draft pick whenever he chooses to declare. Horford has potential but still needs to stick in college, and him being Noah's friend probably will keep him there
everyone is saying that he doesn't need to go pro because of his dad...or something like that...Captain Obvious said:Noah is the only one who realistically might leave.
Noah comes from a wealthy household. Horford comes from a comfortable household. They may stay but is it worth the risk? Noah right now could be the overall No. 1. Has an underclassman tapped as the overall No.1 ever stayed in school? Staying in school could cost him millions both now and down the road since next draft there is no way he will be overall No. 1, not with Greg Oden available.Hbwoy said:As of now Brewer is the most likely to leave as his stock probably wont be any higher. Use the draft to build for the long term, free agency and trades to fill holes. That was the strategy last summer and it would have worked if not for SAR's knee issue. "Best player available" in a system like the Nets makes the most sense. The starting lineup is set. Rookies are not going to get much playing time as a result. And in spite of what we were told about Wright's shooting, he is not a threat beyond about 15 feet at least so far. So, I would have no problem taking another swingman who can shoot and play defense.7M3 said:Corey's great. Like NI said, he's about as well-rounded a wing prospect as you will find. Size (6'8), athleticism (a high jump champion), shooting, ball-handling, passing, rebounding, defense, he's got it all. And he has excellent speed in the open floor as well. With his skinny frame, he reminds me of a taller Kerry Kittles.
But I don't think the Nets can afford to select another SG/SF.
A year ago Matt Leinart chose to stay another season at USC and he probably cost himself a lot more than Noah would.NetIncome said:Has an underclassman tapped as the overall No.1 ever stayed in school?
He will make all those back with endorsements.cpawfan said:A year ago Matt Leinart chose to stay another season at USC and he probably cost himself a lot more than Noah would.
He'll have a hard time making back that money with endorsements because of the opportunity cost. Not only did he lose out on the signing bonus and contract (both of what he will get this year will be less than what he could have received last year) he also lost out on a year of salary and a year of endorsements.Hbwoy said:He will make all those back with endorsements.
Regarding Noah, who is he satisfying by declaring, the public or himself
I think the only ones worried about this are the media and his agents. Matt Lienart doesnt seem to be complaining and I dont think Noah will be either.cpawfan said:He'll have a hard time making back that money with endorsements because of the opportunity cost. Peyton seems to be doing just fine with that choice of his
LOL sorry cpaw I agree with you. I hope Noah stays in school actually. But with the way he is being pressured it might not turn out that way.cpawfan said:![]()
And this has what to do with what I posted? My original point was that another high profile college athlete recently turned down millions, including millions more than Noah would be turning down, to go back to school. I then pointed out that your comment that he would make it back with endorsements was a fallacy.
yes let's overflood the market so the Nets can get one slipping through the cracks!!! WOOOOOghoti said:I want Noah and every other elite underclassman to come out so the Nets have more good players to choose from with their two picks.
