This is a progression move not a knock out...

Trade our pick and Miles for J R smith and Dickau and a future pick

Telfair/Dickau...not bad

J R/monya.....shaky/young

Ruben/outlaw/khryapa....solid

Zak/theo/khryapa.....solid

Przy/theo/ha.........solid

now thats 11 players plus we have Da, and SAR/NVE/Damon to fill in with
either a S&T or MLE. That should win 35 next yr and with 2 first rds in
hand we should be set

we aren't going to compete for a ring next yr so you might as well
bring in some good talent and groom them with ours next yr. Then
we can make a good long run, that is a solid young roster that
will get better

Key word, Looks...JR is at least avg. willing to take a flyer on monya
gets us a solid backup pg who will push telfair..(dickau makes 3s) for
3mil ea 4yr and save our MLE...

rather have 2 next yr than #5 this...save money on miles contract

Another flaw in the situation....Dickau is a Unrestricted Free Agent and NO has no bird rights to him as his 4th year was never picked up.....WHy not just sign him for the MLE.

New Orleans is under the cap they can sign dickau, and I
Would like to save the MLE.

remember the trade...Dickau/JR for miles and pick for pick. I
still think tne next 2 drafts will be better than this one

Gerald Green is virtually better in every aspect of his game and size than J.R. Smith. I see no reason to trade our pick for Smith. Dickau is pretty much the Marc Jackson of this season, plays half a good season on a garbage team and won't ever put numbers like that again.

Green APPEARS to be better.. Hasn't played yet... If Dickau only
turns out to be as good as Marc Jackson I will still like the deal..

Miles for JR and Dickau... I think New orleans pick next yr is better
than our 5th this yr... we will get about 11th next yr plus new orleans.
that alone almost makes it worth while

Why draft at all then? If APPEARING isn't good enough then we shouldn't even draft all and just sign and trade NBA players. That is why we have scouts, to do their homework to pick the player who can most help us. It also APPEARS that LeBron James is going to be a hall of famer, should we not want to acquire him? This post is pretty foolish. Gerald Green is further along in his H.S. senior year than Tracy McGrady was. Green has something that not many H.S. players have and that is the consistency to hit a jump shot from long range, LeBron James didn't even have that.

I don't even think I'd deal Miles for JR Smith right now. Sure JR can shoot, but he is as much of a liability on defense as is Richie Frahm. Not to mention there would be no reason to pick up Smith if we drafted Marvin or Gerald.
