I went to the game yesterday with some great seat and had a chance to observe the Blazer brain trust in action. Before the game I watched (and overheard a little) as Patterson, Nash and Pritchard sat on the Blazer bench (before players came out). Nash and Patterson sat there talking for about 30 minutes while Pritchard would talk to them, then get up and go talk to others then come back . . . Pritchars was very active appearing to talk to power people.
The big suprise for me came at game time. I watched as Patterson and Pritchard sat with Allen and Nash actually came into the stands and sat about five rows directly behind me. He sat by himself and wathced the game. (I went up and spoke with him during one break asking the typical fans questions about next year, the draft, when Miles was coming back. Besides some funny body language when it came to Miles, he was polite and answered my questions . . . didn't reveal anything this board doesn't already know.)
What I found strange about all this is it seemed to me that Nash seemed to be the most out of the loop out of the three. He did disappear at halftime, so maybe he was with the three during Allen's interivew. And at one time Pritchard motioned to Nash if he wanted to switch seats. But it was just strange to see Pritchard, Patterson and Allen talking the whole time with Nash sitting in the stands.
That's it. Probably not too much here, but thought I would pass on the observation.
Couple other thoughts from last night's game: I don't know what suit maker Patterson has, but he looks like a million bucks in his suits and I'm guessing he pays over 2K per suit; it was fun to be so close I could make comments without yelling and have the players hear and acknowledge it. Jack and I had a brief conversation (I don't know if he will ever be a starting point guard but I love that guy's game); Zach was the most interactive with the crowd and kept turning and smiling to a group near by.
