Draft Thomas over Aldridge

I know it's just one game, but Thomas just kicked the ever loving crap out of Aldridge. At this point it seems obvious that if you're chosing between these guys you go with Thomas.

Thoughts?

I think technically Glen Davis just kicked the ever loving crap out of Aldridge
I pro Lemarcus Aldrige because I believe in time he will learn how to handle guys like that, but I too believe Thomas is going to be a monster. He reminds me of Antonio McDyess when he was young and not injured. It might just become possible that we might have to choose between the two depending on who comes out and where we draft. The choice might already be made, but if I was Blazer management I would probably be torn as who to take.

Right now, I would take Tyrus Thomas. Hasoos, you mention that he reminds you of a young Antonio McDyess. Out of curiousity, what about him makes you think that? I've heard a number of people make that same comparison.

To me, after having watched his last 3 games, he reminds me a lot of Shawn Marion (without the jumpshot). I've noticed that he scores a lot of points on putbacks and alley-oops or through strong drives to the bucket. He's also a heck of a shot blocker for his size. Wasn't he named the regional MVP?

Right now, given that this is a pretty weak draft (in terms of potential all-star level talent), I would take a flyer on Tyrus Thomas. He seems to have as much, or more, upside than anyone in this draft. Imagine if he was able to develop a jumpshot ... scary.

i dont believe this is a weak draft its a draft that you have to study more about the players than say the top 4 in 2003, the one thing that makes me weerie of aldridge is his injury in the past. I beleive there is more upside for Tyrus and he has heart a natural feel for the game.
Right now it's between Tyrus Thomas and Yannick Noah's kid. Both are freakishly athletic, block shots like crazy and rebound like madmen, all of which we could certainly use. Noah is older but also 2 inches taller. Of course, both might stay in school (Noah more likely because (a) he's said he will, and (b) I know everybody says that, but when you're the son of a successful tennis pro, you're not hurting for money).
