I crunched some numbers. Feel free to fact-check, it's the end of a long week. Entering Saturday, we know this is set...

1. UMBC
2. Vermont
9. Binghamton

3-8 is a bit of a madhouse, but here's what I came up with. I think I found the easiest way to present this info, considering the number of scenarios involved...

*NEW HAMPSHIRE
If UNH wins...
-They finish 3rd.
If UNH loses...
-They finish 5th if Albany loses at least once.
-They finish 6th if Albany sweeps Stony Brook.

*LOWELL

-They finish 4th if Albany loses at least once.
-They finish 5th if Albany sweeps Stony Brook.

-They finish 8th if NJIT wins at least once.

*STONY BROOK
If Stony Brook sweeps Albany...
-They finish 5th if UNH wins, and NJIT loses at least once.
-They finish 6th if UNH wins and NJIT sweeps Binghamton OR if Lowell wins and NJIT loses at least once.
-They finish 7th if Lowell wins and NJIT sweeps Binghamton.
If Stony Brook splits with Albany...
-They finish 7th if Binghamton sweeps NJIT.
-They finish 8th if NJIT wins at least once.
If Stony Brook is swept by Albany...
-They finish 8th.

*NJIT
If NJIT sweeps Binghamton...
-They finish 5th if UNH wins and Stony Brook sweeps Albany.
-They finish 6th if UNH wins and Albany wins at least once OR if Lowell wins and Stony Brook sweeps Albany.
-They finish 7th if Lowell wins and Albany wins at least once.
If NJIT splits with Binghamton...
-They finish 7th.
If NJIT is swept by Binghamton...
-They finish 7th if Albany sweeps Stony Brook.
-They finish 8th if Stony Brook wins at least once.

And finally, the one team that is doing nothing but scoreboard watching this weekend...

*HARTFORD
Hartford finishes 3rd if...
-Lowell wins and Stony Brook wins at least once.
Hartford finishes 4th if...
-UNH wins and Stony Brook wins at least once OR if Lowell wins and Albany sweeps Stony Brook.
Hartford finishes 5th if...
-UNH wins and Albany sweeps Stony Brook.

Cheers to Albany for literally being able to finish 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th as of tonight. Impressive.

So the Hartford\Binghamton matchup is now set for the first round anyway. Gallagher must be shaking in his boots....

Well, you're very lucky there wasn't one more set of games this weekend that tied into the other ones, because it would've been more than my pen-and-paper math would've been able to handle. :)

Looks like Albany Stony Brook round 3 coming next weekend in a 5-8 matchup (unless bingo pulls out the unexpected sweep tomorrow).

Surprisingly excited for the Binghamton/Hartford game. The Bearcats defense has really stepped up since their first COVID delay. UNH scored 44 points in Game 1 and then 56 in regulation of Game 2 before Binghamton collapsed in OT. They played well against UNH overall, nearly sweeping the weekend set, then came out and whopped up on NJIT yesterday despite playing without leading scorer Mills, holding NJIT to 47 points through 35 minutes (up 20, Binghamton played their C-team the last five minutes--Amos, Willis, others). If they win today that would be a nice finish to an otherwise lousy year.

The Hawks shot 55% (42% 3FG) and 52% (59% 3FG) in the two games vs Binghamton earlier this year. I suspect that the percentages won't be quite as good this third time around.

Agree with everything you say plus you have Bruce now (he did not play in the 2 previous games against Hartford). He improves the defense tremendously. Additionally Hartford鈥檚 offense has sputtered in recent games.

A little bit of hope entering the conference tournament if you're a Binghamton fan. Three of four with the loss coming in OT. Defense looked good again today.

One random thing: I went back and looked at my notes. There were 18 different combinations of results that could have occurred this weekend (calling splits one combination...because who won which game is irrelevant). Of those 18 combinations, exactly ONE produced this combination of results...

3. UNH
4. Hartford
5. Albany
6. Lowell
7. Stony Brook
8. NJIT

And it's the one we got.
