If you mean, do they have a chance to take a game, then yes they do. However, winning the series is going to be impossible. If a team as good as Sacramento doesn't get respect, then the Nets can't expect to get any either. You know what I mean to(refs).... ;)

The Nets would have to play perfect (offensively & defensively) in at least 4 games to have a chance at winning the title.

They have to believe they can win, execute as if they expect to win, and then expect they'll win.

They also would have to get some "key" people in foul trouble during those 4 perfect games.

Besides that, 3 to 5 players would have to step it up offensively during those 4 games. Not only that, but they'd have to "run" the Lakers into the ground for 48 minutes X 4, as they are only used to 1/2 court basketball.

Those are the main things and that is asking a whole lot. :)

I'm with you - it is a bit too much to ask, but I know Kidd and his team will try hard, and that'll help make the series interesting. :)

it's funny because i read somewhere on another message board that the nets can possibly take it because the lakers have about 5 players who they can count on, as oppose to the nets, who have a strong team overall.

Anything is always possible in the NBA, Bizzy, but the odds are usually not in favor of a team who is going up against the 2 time defending champs.

Did you get to watch any of the Kings/Lakers series? If you did, you can see why most people don't give the nets a chance to win, some even think they'll be lucky to win 1 game. But then as some people say
"records are made to be broken and champs are going to fall sometimes, so it might as well be this year".

Hopefully, your Nets will come to do some serious battle and surprise some people! :)

I honestly thought the Kings were a better team, playing better basketball. But sometimes it pays to be lucky, rather than good

lucky is not the word. let's just say it pays to have "connections" because we all know the refs weren't calling the games fairly.

The best team didn't get as much respect as the 2 best individuals...
in the long run, the best team will prevail.

and it's not really the two best individuals. it's really the 382 lb. shaq...
