Focus of our offense

kind of following on from what is being said in the general board...

do you guys think its time the rockets run their offense through yao? i mean even when t-mac comes back next year. use yao in a c-webber kind of way because yao has good passing ability.

i fear that once t-mac is back, yao is gonna lose a lot of his touches becuase tmac will be looking for his shot too much. we have seen what yao can do being the focus of the offense, and with tmac back, that would open things up even more for yao. in this scenario i would predict 24-11-2 for yao and around 25-6-5 for tmac, which would definately make the team a western conference contender.

give me ur thoughts on this...

Tracy will share the ball, scoring is good, but he doesn't want to do all of it like he did with Orlando. Tracy knows what he's doing, he recognizes that he should help Yao get his points first and then do his thing if Yao can't.

What's wrong with having both of them share the ball equally?

That's how it should be, and it should be built around a system rather than an individual. Whether or not JVG can plug an effective system into the Rockets' system is to be determined. Just gotta wait until we get all the guys healthy together.
I'm not too worried about it. If anything our offense becomes less predictable which makes it easier for Yao and Tracy to get into grooves. You also have the possibility of the two playing off of each other with pick-and-roll/pick-and-pop situations. The easiest way to get the role players involved is have them cut to the basket; both TMac and Yao can spot them and deliver a pretty pass. One thing is for sure -- there has to be some kind of movement on offense. You don't want everyone sitting around waiting for Yao and McGrady to shoot jumpers over double teams.

If JVG can't figure out how to make it work between these two, at this stage in their career, then he doesn't deserve a job.
