8. New Jersey Nets Current record: 31-36 Projected record: 41-41 Skinny: The Nets have been slowly creeping up in the East since starting the season 2-11. With Jason Kidd healthy, Vince Carter looking like his old self and rookie Nenad Krstic playing solid ball, the team still has enough firepower to compete with most teams in the East. The good news for the Nets is that they have one of the softest schedules in the East over the next month. Combine that with word that Richard Jefferson's rehab is ahead of schedule, and the Nets could get a much-needed boost the last three or four games of the season that pushes them into the playoffs.

This run has me in a great mood. I'd rather the 7th seed, cause like I've been saying, I'd rather face the Pistons.
