I am rooting for Dayton because I know everyone wants to know my cheering interests even though it is evident without saying. I probably should keep it to myself but why not troll someone who might get bent out of shape about it?

Although they're playing at home, I don't see the Flyers as a 4.5 point favorite. They're a veritable MASH Unit, and I would expect SLU to press trying to wear Dayton out and forcing turnovers. I'd think UD would play a lot of zone on defense to try and keep their players out of foul trouble, and they don't have anybody to stay with Yuri.

In my opinion you are better off pressuring and trapping Collins instead of a zone. Also, Jimmerson can break a zone.

The zone seemed to throw the Rams off on Tuesday. But, it doesn't take much for that to happen, so who knows?

Now that you mention it I think they ran the 1-3-1 zone which might work well to help get out on 3 point shooters.

Dayton can use its length to guard Collins and specifically get him to pick up his dribble, not sure a zone does that unless they go with a 1-3-1 and trap out if it. I would never help off Collins, better he score 15 with only 3 assists than 10 and 10. I am still a Dayton believer and think they roll tonight. Of course that means they will lose by 15.

It is not rocket science to say Collins needs to be slowed down to beat Slu. It is not rocket science to say he is undersized and guards with length have a better chance of guarding him. It takes modicum of knowledge to say going zone would allow Collins to keep his dribble and see the court. The 1-3-1 suggestion is next level knowledge by that I mean you coached 5th grade recreation ball. The general concepts are easy it’s the details these guys are phenomenal at players and caches.
