There is not more on SLU. Best player is an under sized good guard with a solid supporting cast but nothing great. Just get in Collins grill and then Dayton is better at every other position. Everyone else if you play physical they do not respond. They are willing to lose.

I disagree. St. Louis was picked to place second in the league by A10 coaches and most pundits (second to Dayton). Obviously the coaches felt this team had plenty of talent. Granted they're in 3rd place, but this game tonight was underwhelming in what was arguably their biggest conference game to date of the season.

I disagree because preseason predictions are relevant until tip off of the season. Biggest issue is Perkins has not fully recovered from his knee injury. Who is the guy after Collins? jimmerson is easily guarded. The season speaks for itself and I can tell you many Fordham fan thought we had a good chance to win that game going in. I watch the games I don’t care about preseason predictions.

True, preseason predictions mean nothing, but you also don’t beat Memphis, Providence, and take Auburn down to the wire on the road in a game you really should have won without talent. The potential to have performed far better both in and out of conference is there, but they haven’t grasped it. Seems to be a trait of Ford teams. Ford teams also seem to start off looking as advertised, before faltering. To me that comes back to coaching too, as it indicates being figured out a bit once teams have some tape on you.

Chetburger is rounding up 12 guys at the RecPlex as we speak.
Fortunately we didn't need them tonight but I had 3 guys, 1 lady, and one purple-haired "other" in the bullpen for Anthony in case we ran out of bodies. I pulled them all off the same RecPlex coed team so they'd have some on-court continuity. I might call Travis and see if he need them.

Dayton looks the part of the best team in the league when they play like this. Just bigger and more athletic than anyone in the league. I don’t understand the losses to GW URI or Bonnies. Those teams are not close to them in terms of talent, I don’t care they played them on the road.
Can’t agree with you more after our showing last night.

I think everyone rated the Billikens highly pre-season based on Javonte Perkins being fully recovered from last season’s injury. He simply is not. Then when Fred Thatch went down this season we lost a gritty player especially on defense.

Speaking of the old days, who was on Snipe's all-star poster team? I remember that Chet was his 6th man, but I don't remember the starters.
Here's on of his threads that is locked, but maybe not the one you are thinking of:

Who was the guy that did the excellent preseason breakdowns and loved talking whiskeys? I can't believe I can't recall his name. (oops, just remembered, the great WH) He was definitely on it.

WH's write up on each A10 team was better than anything you could find in those basketball magazines. I was bummed when he decided to stop writing them.
