"The Wizards were engaged in trade talks with the Orlando Magic regarding a deal involving center Jahidi White and one if not both of their first-round draft picks for Magic forward Mike Miller, center Andrew DeClerq and Orlando's No. 18 pick, according to a source claiming knowledge of the situation."

This would be a horrible idea. Mike Miller is just not worth it. Haywood is too inexperienced to be the main man at Center and that would mean Laettner would get extended minutes there. Could a worse scenario present itself?

The word is also that Jiri Welsch had a good workout on Monday.

Wow, BOTH 1st round picks!?! I'm sorry, but Mike Miller just isn't worth it for all that they would give up.....
Why the hell orlando do this deal and compromise their cap space for next year is beyond me

Would be a good deal for the Wiz if they covet cap room for next year and want to be rid of Jahidi's dead weight contract ( pun intended )

Wiz would already hold $11M this year if they resign BobbySimmons and ink their current draft picks.

Chris Whitney is surplus if you take a point with one of yoru 1st round picks and his $3.3M team option would come off the books

Mike Miller's option could be waived and Andrew DeClerq has an option which can be not picked up.

There is an additional $8.5M in cap room to go with your current $11M giving you around $19.5M to spend on free agents over the course of this season ($11M ) and next ($8.5M)

Wiz to me appear to be positioning themselves to be a major marquee free agent player this season and next.

I expect then to take a hard run at Bibby and a big man next year to work in with Kwame and Brendan.

You have mentioned the Wizards have $11mil in cap room this season a couple times. That is wrong. You are not counting the dead contracts we are still paying like Loy Vaught and Lorenzo Williams.

Hey you may well be right if you have knowledge that I don't .

But according to hoopshype.com and Real GM no such recording of contracts have been entered against their cap so you tell me

I am open to alternate sources if you have them where we can know definitively
Before RealGM shut down showing contracts they had it.

The list only shows active players and their salary. You can go to HoopHype for lastyear and they didnt show Mitch Richmond's cap hit even though he was on the books for $5M.

If you lived in the area you would hear how they, the local radio, lament that we still pay Lorenzo Williams and Loy Vaught. They are eating about $8M in cap.
