The Bulls pulled out a close one, beating the Jazz 97 - 95.

The Good:

Rose and Gasol both played and looked good. Rose even hit some 3 pointers. Butler also played well, leading the Bulls in scoring with 25.

The Bad:

Noah and Dunleavy only took 5 shots between them, scoring a total (for the two of them) of 6 points.

The Bench:

Mirotic again played well. He seems to be adjusting to the NBA game better and better. Interestingly, Tony Snell played more that McDermott.

Re: Bulls - Jazz: Rose and Gasol are back!

Another great performance by Jimmy Butler. There was definitely a different energy to start the game (which I attributed to the return of our actual starting lineup), but we let things go a bit late and really had to fight to hold onto this one. Gasol looked good, as did Mirotic. Rose didn't look like he was going full speed necessarily, but played really well early and helped the Bulls close things out (as dicey as that was). Taj Gibson would have helped. Lots of Snell in this one, and it wasn't pretty for the most part. I'm assuming some of that has to do with Hinrich's absence. As inept as he is shooting the ball the last few years, Kirk helps our rotation at important times and was missed in this game too, I thought. Brooks hit some big shots at important times down the stretch.

Re: Bulls - Jazz: Rose and Gasol are back!

The Bulls seemingly have a big 3 now in Rose, Gasol, & Butler. Those guys tore it up for the most part. It even seemed like Rose was barely even trying, like he was taking it easy given his first game back from the hamstring injury. So it is good to see that he can still produce in spite of taking it easy.

The rest of the team didn't really play very well. Mirotic was good offensively and I love the guy's effort on D, but he just was getting outmuscled by the Utah bigs around the hoop and that really hurt us. If Mirotic puts on some strength these next few off-seasons...watch out. I love his game otherwise.

Not a fan of Butler at 43 minutes & Gasol at 37 minutes. These 2 guys are logging alot of time this season and it is worrying. Eventually these minutes will need to be kept in moderation. I know guys like Snell & McDermott need to step up, but that's not going to happen if they aren't given some run at some point. They look like they're playing timid in fear of being yanked for a mistake (which they in turn are).
