I read a article on the Wizards site stating that EJ may start Etan over Brendan the rest of the season.
JJ gets so little respect from the fans, but he more than makes up for that deficit by earning the trust of his team. My hunch is that he instills that through attitude, which is all but invisible to anyone but coach, teammates and management. But we can observe that he's an usual talent who is steadily developing into a solid non-star but multi-faceted starter. The fact that he contiues to defy our expectations is reason enough to stay tuned to his future. Hopefully that will be in DC.f22egl said:How did Jarred Jeffries get 5 blocks?

I was pretty much thinking the same thing when I saw that post.AJM said::whatever:
Ha! We shall see. As I said, he's defying expectations. Anyone not want him to do that?byrondarnell66 said:I was pretty much thinking the same thing when I saw that post.
Lottery position? Career stats? Is that the numerical approach to dissing him?byrondarnell66 said:Take a look here --->Jared Jeffries career stats.
I guess that defy's all expectations from a lottery pick (#7 to be exact), and maybe, just maybe by his progress he will be a (quality consistant) starter by 2012. Can't wait.
I guess we'll hear next about all the intangibles he brings to the team next.
*Edit* Jared was picked #11, but still a lottery pick.
Thank you.jimmywolfrey said:It is funny that you diss the only player on the wizards starting 5 that knows how to play good 1 on 1 defense. Jeffries helps out with the ball handling and plays very good 1 on 1 defense. He does alot of hustle plays and creates mismatches on the floor so that other players can operate smoothly. He is still learning and finding his jump shot (which he had a decent one when he first came into the league). You have to remember he came out after his sophomore year in college. This is would be his 2nd year in the league if he would have stayed all 4 years in college (which he should have). If you remember his first year he suffered a season ending injury after only 20 games so in essence this is his 'rookie year' or technically 3rd year.
Yes he is a starter and does play inconsistent on the offense of end but you look at his averages and you see they arn't that bad considering he is the 5th option amongst the starters on offense and that he only plays 24 minutes per game. He plays the Tayshaun Prince role for the Wizards but gets less minutes of course than Prince.
He passes, dribbles, gets steals, blocks, rebounds and plays defense. That is what is asked of him and that is what he does. Plus he is only 24 years old!
I'm sure the Wizards could find a player by free agency or drafting that can do all those things AND have somewhat of an ability to score the basketball. I think Jeffries' shot has gotten worse this season, which makes him pretty much invisible on offense. Him and Ruffin compete for the worst offensive players on the team.jimmywolfrey said:It is funny that you diss the only player on the wizards starting 5 that knows how to play good 1 on 1 defense.
